Pea gravel is my DH's fave. He always says he loves the sounds when we pull into the driveway!

Yeah, the white spaces made me think about the recent post sharing a home that was deemed too cold by the majority - because of its white spaces. I think there were some grays in the mix, but there are in this home as well. This home has been warmed beautifully, and I'd think just about any place that's a blank, white canvas could be as well.

When I saw this room...

it reminded me of another room in another house I loved: Richard Gere's. I think it's mostly the wood color...

Yes though I think the wood is different. Jane's is def better! I think Gere's room looks 80s, Jane's looks timeless. I would have thought I'd dislike a wood panelled room, but *that* wood, and all that light!

I do like the window treatment in the bedroom...in the living room above, it looks like the windows have interior shutters which can be closed.

Orchidrain, the TV is in the eat-in part of the kitchen, not the formal dining room.

The office is only 8' wide...love how they built the bookcase into the wall so it's still there but takes up much less floor space in an already tight area.

The colors used in the house remind me a lot of Phoebe Howard...

Interesting how gorgeous that wood is in that sitting room. So many voices would say, "Ooh, too orange." In that setting it's just warm and lovely.

I think, as wood goes, it works because it is quite pale/blonde and not very orange at all.

What a lovely property! I love everything about it, with perhaps the exception of the Reception Hall. It feels too much like a living room, and not a reception room. But the floor plan is perfection, IMO.

The white kitchen looks so inviting because the photographer didn't overly lighten the photos. Too many white kitchens look sterile because in the editing process, they are brightened to the point they practically hurt your eyes.

It's lovely, but no window over the kitchen sink makes me sad.

I love every single thing about it. The pea gravel, the paneled sitting room, the homey kitchen, the lovely reception room (so many ways to handle it). I’ll even take the cottage, how perfectly sized is that for DH and me?

Well, it's not as bad as it has been but after getting closer to parity, it is now 1.22 USD to the GBP

(this is 5 years of data; if you look back over 40 years there have been time when it took $2 to buy 1 pound!)

Thanks it seems inexensive for where and how much acreage is included. 10.5 mil in GBP is 12.8m USD and seems closer to what I expect in the UK housing market.

Not entirely my style decor, but "it'll do...."!

The Lawn needs to be a lot greener (yes....I'm one of those).

Have to stay English I suppose, so a couple Aston-Martins in "The Drive" would suffice. A DBS & a Vantage would do nicely I should say..... :-)
