Pleated shades of cellular shades for large windows
Comments (3)I have pleated shades in the back windows of my house and they are fine .. However, I am considering the cellular shades that, in addition to pulling the bottom up, you can also pull the top down. One of my neighbors has this in their front picture window and it looks so nice. These really give you the right amount of privacy and the right amount of light that you need. They are pricey, but in my opinion worth it! Linda...See MoreEnergy efficient windows and Cellular shades/solar shades
Comments (4)We build cellular shades here in Vermont with Hunter Douglas cellular fabric made by Comfortex. We have a good client base in Australia, as well as other very hot places in the US, so I asked a Comfortex rep about any heat limits. The fabric we build our shades with has no limitation that would preclude usage in extremely hot locations. If you invest in a quality shade it'll last you. Ours last 20 years! Hope that helps!...See MoreCellular shades - 3/8" double or 3/4" single?
Comments (4)Thanks for the response, I had already ordered the 3/4". Sometimes posting here helps me even before I get responses, forces me get all my thoughts in order! I'm buying Bali through Costco, don't have a 3/4" heavy option. I've been living with black paper shades on the windows for several months so excited to have finally placed the order!...See MoreTop/down cellular shades - Blinds to Go
Comments (32)I have 4 very large 48 X 95 inch cellular blinds from Blinds to Go. I did not get top down. Mine are white but appear slightly gray because they are black out blinds and lined inside the cells with silver. I have Hunter Douglas in my other rooms. The difference I have found is in the strings. The Blinds to Go use white strings for the pulls and they get dirty, Hunter Douglas uses ball chain and is a continuous loop. The Blinds to Go have had to be repaired. The blinds got shorter and shorter over time and uneven. It seems the strings inside were catching or shrinking. I must say that the company repaired them and quickly, but I had climb up 12 feet to take them down and put them up again several days later and in the mean time I had no window covering in my bedroom. For me the price difference was worth buying Hunter Douglas. I purchased them through Home Depot. Also the Blinds to Go installer was horrible and they had to send me someone else to fix the initial install twice. Also the first batch of delivered shades were incorrectly measured. The Home Depot installer was very professional and timely....See MoreMaryann
