Let me guess...Cabinets from China?

I am a fabricator. Officially only "Cambria Qualified" fabricators are allowed to buy, fabricate, and install the product. Joe is correct about Cambria's vertical integration model. What he didn't mention is that Cambria 's business model also presumes they can charge a premium price based on their vast investment in marketing which portrays their product as "premium". In actuality there are many engineered stone alternatives that are equally beautiful and durable with the major factor determining the customers satisfaction being the quality of the fabricator. (Years ago Cambria had a technology edge in creating colors with limited movement but that edge is gone as other engineered stone OEM's have developed a similar capability.) Any regular reader of this forum will know Cambria has plenty of dissatisfied customers due to both material and fabrication issues. My advice to my customers has always been to use Cambria and pay the often substantial price premium only when the look of a unique Cambria color is key to their decorating scheme.

Hi neighbor, We're in Colts Neck. We had our present, 25 year old kitchen from Wholesale Kitchen Cabinet Distributors in Perth Amboy. We were very happy with them, and I just sat down with one of their designers to help me work out our renovation. They sell Decora, among other brands. All plywood costs more, of course, but they worked out $1000 cheaper than our local Decora supplier--maybe better than $1000, in fact, since we had changed our layout a little. The young woman there also impressed me with her careful planning and attention to detail. They will install, if you like, or you can hire someone else. They won't do a lot of extras, like plumbing or electric, so if you're doing more extensive renovations, I'd hire your own guy. HTH. Liz

greatdeals, The Camarillo place is West Coast Marble & Granite, 1780 Ventura Bvld., Camarillo 805 384-2700. It is in Old Town Camarillo, plus the owner has another showroom in Sun Valley. Don't hesitate to bargain because we did not pay what he originally quoted which is higher than Surface USA, Oxnard. I believe Arena Marble is the place in Newbury Park that does not install. Agoura Hills Marble & Granite is the one that do install. They are at 29370 Roadside Road, Agoura Hills, 818 879-8544. She has some beautiful slabs of stones, very competitive prices, but we did not have the confidence to go with them without the assurance of seeing some sample work, and in-house measurement.
