Do you need the fireplace? It would be a great help as a room divider, but in the locations you have it, it really can't function that way. I'm assuming this would be a gas fireplace. Can it be very modern? Or does it have to be more of a traditional fireplace? Some modern fireplaces can be small and can be placed almost anywhere, which may work for you. Part of the issue is the space, once you remove the traffic area, is really a square which then needs to be divided in 2 for the 2 functions. That leaves you only about 9' or 3 meters for each function which is pretty narrow. Plus you need traffic area to get from one function to the other. Candice Olson has done some interesting dining/LR combos. Perhaps one of them will inspire you. Given the size of your area, look at the rooms where she's done a built-in banquette for one side of the dining area as a way to save space.

I like Manon's layout the best. In your current layout (where you just moved the furniture), pull that chair out of the corner and closer to the sofa so that people have to walk AROUND the seating area instead of THROUGH it. Please do not buy one of those combo TV console/fireplaces. They are truly an abomination. It you want a fireplace, install an electric or ventless one on the wall, add a mantel shelf that's longer than the TV and mount the TV on an articulating arm. If you don't do a fireplace, mount the TV anyway so you can turn it to watch from the sofa.

Hello Jayne, What a fun space! Here are a few of my thoughts: For the dining space, I would stick with a small, rectangular table. Because you have a doorway to the porch near the dining area and you want room to walk around easily, I would aim for something not larger than 60" long by 36" wide, but you can double check that in the space. As for the seating area, if you want to maximize seating, I might aim for a couch with one or two chairs along the wall with the window. I notice when I have guests, everyone chooses a chair. Not everyone wants to snuggle up next to someone they don't know very well on a sectional. It is also easier to rearrange if you decide to change up the layout. If you want to have even more options for seating, it might also be nice to do one or more ottomans that are cushioned and could be used for feet or as additional seating for guests. They could be grouped together or spread out when being used. If you ended up replacing your coffee table with a/an ottoman/s, you may want to also add end tables so there is a place to set drinks, remotes, or lamps, if desired. For an entertainment center, I would potentially choose something a bit more narrow to make sure it wasn't in the walkway, For instance, this entertainment center is 14" D so it is the same as the depth change in the wall so it could be flush. I can be clumsy and prefer to have things tucked away or I run into them! Then I would add a rug, some lamps, and maybe a great mirror over the fireplace to make it look bigger and brighter! 48" and 60" are common. It is impossible to say that a future house will not fit a 96" table. Have you considered having 2 72" tables made that pushed together, appear as one? I think this could be done with simple parsons tables.
