Great questions. I didn't read it as snarky at all. The reason I want to paint the LR is because I've lived here ten years and we have never painted this room. It's not the same boardwalk color as the lower half of the dining room. It's much lighter, kind of a beige-y, pinky color. It doesn't match the hallway or the dining room. I was hesitant to paint it all boardwalk because my furniture is all brown-ish and I didn't want the living room to feel all brown like a mudhut lol. My sofa is butterscotch, then both chairs are chocolate. The recliner has squares of the moody blue in it. The leaf chair has butterscotch and I guess ivory. The throw pillows on the sofa are ivory, a light blue, butterscotch, and a gold. My original thought was to paint the whole thing moody blue to add so life and interest to the room, but my fear is the color will be overwhelming. My other choice is the boardwalk. It is in the adjoining hall and the dining room, but I was also thinking of painting my new kitchen that color. Is that too much of a good thing??? I had not considered any golden colors. I will pick up some swatches the next time I am a SW or Lowes. Thanks again.

Sounds lovely. I don't think it's unusual to do different wall colors in the same room anymore. Especially with open floor plans where morning or familyrooms join or share a kitchen wall. I had to do the same in my kitchen and actually love the contrast. Good luck with your build. I'm going to have to look up Rosewood granite. I don't believe I've seen it before. Sounds beautiful.

I like it, but I also think it would look nice painted the existing wall color or the gray owl. I think it looks really nice with all the other blue in the room. What is the light paint color in the LR? You mention painting the mantel with chalk paint. Is it currently the same color as the rest of the trim? I like it as is and wouldn't paint it. What color chalk paint were you considering? Have you been looking at a lot of blog inspiration lately? I found that when I was spending a lot of time planning a certain project I started thinking about making all kinds of other changes - changes that aren't me. I took a few week break from looking at anything decorating related and realized I still love the same look I have even though it's not trendy. If this applies to you, try taking a break so you can see if you're being true to you. Very pretty rooms! - Also wanted to mention I really like the mirror. I think art would look nice too if you found something you liked, but I honestly like it right where it's at. It appears expensive, is very nice looking, and I think it works in that spot. I sometimes do colored accent walls to actually accent a piece of art or bring a color from something in the space to make that color make sense. I take a long time to add them so I just paint everything one color and then do all the furniture , art everything else into the space and then decide if an accent wall is needed.This wall I for whatever reason seemed to think it needed to be that purple color and now 6 yrs later I think it needs to go back to gray. Its just paint .
