@lynartist - I like the chandelier but still prefer glass shades to lamp shapes. It does look great in your dining room. Beautiful room. @pinkmountanin - I didn't mind the dark with light table, I just didn't like those chairs with the table somehow. Now I am thinking of darkening the original chairs. Yes, easier said than done. It will have to be done overtime. Maybe even two-tone them so the design in the middle is still in maple. More so because it's more work. Something to think about down the road.

I think a cross-hatch or trellis could be too similar to the curtain pattern in both pattern and scale. Generally it's easier to mix patterns when the scale is different. I’m thinking back to our sons younger years. Pray god they don’t get stomach bugs all over a shag carpet or a sisal. Ewww. Anyway, one last plug for Flor. Each tile can be scrubbed to an inch of its life, hosed off under the faucet, let out to dry and it’s good as new. They even have ones that look like shag. (I’m not a Flor employee- just a fan :)

I don’t like trying to choose art for people I don’t know, but did think of this piece when I saw your room. I’m not sure if the size would work, though. I really like how quiet it is. It’s intriguiung and makes me want to look closer.
