I prefer satin. Although when I couldn't source satin due to supply issues, I used semi-gloss and didn't really see much of a difference.

I also do all trim in Regal pearl.

Here’s a photo of our last kitchen. Hubby designed, built, and painted the cabinets. We used BM advance in high gloss. (Chantilly Lace) They were sprayed, but I painted the crown moulding with a brush. We were very happy with the Advance line. They were very easy to wipe clean.

Just wanted to add, that if you’re doing the trim in semigloss, I’d probably do the cabinets in semigloss as well.

Satin for sure. We just painted window trim and I started with the semi-gloss because they were out of the satin, but then found the satin elsewhere and switched because the semi-gloss was so shiny! Our cabinets are Aura satin and our trim is Satin Impervo, and the Advance Satin has a similar sheen to both of those. ETA: If you're just debating high gloss vs. semi-gloss, then semi-gloss.

We painted our cabinets with BM Advance and were very pleased with the paint, and it's holding up well. We did some samples beforehand. We used a color (Tate Olive) which did not look good with any gloss, we ended up using a satin finish which looked much better and wipes up great. skmom's photo above looks good though, so maybe whites do better with a gloss.

@daisychain Zn3b Thank you! We have not purchased the wall paint yet but appreciate the tip on eggshell over matte. Will definitly make the switch!

Here’s more of the island view of my kitchen above. Also BM advance in high gloss, but this time the color is Kendall Charcoal.

We painted our 100 year old cabinets with BM Advance Oxford White in a pearl sheen. The paint still looked fresh until we tore them out 8 years later. Our new kitchen is currently being built and we are using the same paint and sheen.

@ HU-622906582 Sorry that is the choice my painter gave me. I won't be in the house for awhile so I don't care how long it takes to dry as that seems to be the most hesitation with Advance.

OP, I realized that some of this also depends on what look you're going for--high gloss is legit glossy but that is also a cabinet style that some want. Our cabinets are more traditional so we didn't want them to look glossy. Our local BM stores have samples of the finishes to look at--worth taking a look to see what fits the look you're going for.

Think of why Car Clearcoats are Gloss..... ALWAYS. There's a VERY good reason for it! From a "Technical-ONLY" viewpoint, the shinier the better.

Now.....I realize most don't want a high-gloss look. Then......flip a coin between Satin & S-G. Just realize Gloss exists for reason.

Just look at the shiny 488 in some peoples' driveways.......🤪🤤
