How to pull off multiple coffee tables

I have an irregular shaped family room, basically a rectangle with one corner hacked off. None of the standard coffee table shapes seem to work in the room with my sectional. I have seen some designers use multiple coffee tables and I think this might be the solution for my space, but I don't know how to choose tables that will work together. Is there some kind of formula or rules for this?

If your room is irregular, go with a shape that's not symmetric. You could do something like this where they seem connected:

I've swagged fixtures using hooks, no problem. They mke a type that pops open then you push them up into the ceiling. But, if this is permanent, I'd have an electrician come in and move the electric box.

I'd go with shagreen in a heartbeat. I don't love the Hickory Chair, reads a bit "deco" as do a lot of their case goods. I'd like to see something more transitional. The accent chest was not my decision lol. Some posters on here suggested similar console under art like you are but she don’t like it. The console under TV was a custom made piece of cabinetry along with floating shelfs and stained onsite. Thank you! Attached is ottoman we are thinking of getting. There’s also a beige one. How to paint this coffee table

Prep the surface by filling any knicks and scuff sanding the entire table. Wipe it down with mineral spirits or alcohol to remove any dust. Spray it with a good enamel.

This is the type of look I'm going for. I now have a round coffee table in black with a metal rod base.

I don't know what the proportions should be for the tables in relation to one another to pull off something like in the photo. I could try to find similar pieces, but I would love some guidelines so I can be original.
