Ruvati Sinks
Comments (45)Lucie, my sink is an older model of yours. The colanders and cutting boards have been used once or twice and are now in the garage. I love the deep sink for washing large pans. I have only had 2 bowl sinks before this, and I will never go back to 2 bowls. However, with our garbage disposal sitting underneath the sink drain, that leaves just 5-6" to get around it to fix any plumbing. My husband can't get inside the sink cabinet to replace washers or repair faucets. Make sure your sink cabinet doesn't have the divider piece between the two doors. (Stylus? I don't remember what it's called.) I think because your drain is off to one side, you will not have the garbage disposal problem. We raised our countertops 4-5 inches, and we still have problems. Even without a garbage disposal, you will have to reach around the deep sink in the back, then up to the underside of the countertops to repair or replace anything. We have to hire people to do anything because my husband's back won't let him bend like that to lay inside the cabinet. Plus, you can't see what you are doing. 19" reaching back, then 10" reaching up to the underside of the countertop to unscrew the faucet, air switch, or soap dispenser connections is not easy unless you are young and bendable with long arms. Your sink is 19" front to back, but only 14.5" in the interior. Make sure your largest hand wash item will fit. My Ruvati center drain sink did not drain well. They had the channels/bends like yours, but the angle was not enough to fully drain like the slope on a cast iron sink. They could have changed that problem though. Cleaning: the square corners, edges, and angles are a pain to clean. I use an old toothbrush. Bleach will leave black spots on the sink if it splashes and you don't rinse it off. It is hard to notice that you splashed bleach until it is too late. Faucets: search Houzz for pull out vs pull down faucets since your sink is narrow front to back and deep. Our arched, pull down sprayer/faucet splashes everywhere unless we pull it down and let it hang 4-6" down hoping it will splash inside the sink. I am constantly drying the faucets, countertops, soap dispenser, and backsplash because other people don't pull the faucet down. It is a long way from the faucet to the item you are rinsing in the sink. With your narrow sink you will have to be careful that your faucet doesn't stick out too far which is why we chose an arched faucet that splashes. Doing it again: I would probably choose a sink without the square edges and corners to clean. I would choose more rounded edges and I would get a better slope in the drain. I would never go back to 2 bowl and would always have a deep sink. It is tough to find a perfect sink though with all of your requirements....See MoreKraus or Ruvati Kitchen Sink
Comments (9)I also have a 31 inch single bowl Kraus SS undermount. Our model is the KBU14. It was installed November of last year, as part of our remodel. I am very, very happy with it. I like the larger deeper size and compared to the single bowl 23inch, 5 inch deep steel enamel sink I had in the old kitchen this one is a dream! It has held up very well. I mostly wash dishes by hand and the bottom grid protects the sink well. Once a week I take the grid out and scrub it in the utility sink in the basement. I also give the sink a good washing with dish soap and a soft scrubby going with the grain. I comes out beautiful. The finish is a satin look, and it is a quiet sink with the 16 gauge steel. We bought ours from Amazon and were very impressed by the way it came packaged so securely with extra strong cardboard and styrofoam packing. Showed extra care from the company. The price from Amazon was very good, better than we could get locally. My mother has the 23inch version (KBU12) of this in her new kitchen which was done in 2012. Still looking great and she is very happy with it....See MoreRuvati 33’ undermount - RVH8150
Comments (7)I hear good things about Ruvati sinks. However the configuration you show has a bowl that is so small to be almost useless. I only like 2-bowl sinks when you can have a 36” width. Smaller than that, you will have one of the bowls, and sometimes both bowls, too small to be useful. In that case l‘d get a single bowl sink. It’s both a more current look, and you will enjoy it more than banging up against a divider. If you must have a double-bowl sink, I’ll link to a more roomy sink that is in the same 33” size as in your OP. I am also linking a single bowl sink that would be a good option. Kraus is very popular on this forum with a lot of good feedback on them. https://www.amazon.com/Kraus-Standart-Undermount-Stainless-KHU103-33/dp/B0032C411C/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1548954063&sr=8-3&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=kraus+khu103-33&dpPl=1&dpID=51fVm80FjFL&ref=plSrch https://www.amazon.com/Kraus-Standart-Undermount-Stainless-KHU100-32/dp/B0032C5YGI/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1548954214&sr=8-3&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=kraus+khu100-32&dpPl=1&dpID=51oOF%2BW8OPL&ref=plSrch...See MoreKraus Kore Workstation KWU110-32 vs Ruvati Roma Workstation RVH8301
Comments (10)I installed a Kraus Kraus KHT410-33 Standart Pro sink earlier this summer. (late June) Be aware that this^^ is an 18 gauge sink. I thought it was 16 gauge when I bought it (and was advertised as 16 gauge). Discovered that it was 18 gauge after I ordered it and before it was delivered. So I was fully prepared to send it back. Long story short--it is a great sink. Solid, well made, arrived in flawless condition (great packaging.) So, we went ahead & installed it and I have been really, really happy with it ever since. I, too, had felt that 16 gauge was a must but have changed my mind about that, least ways with the particular sink that I bought....See MoreJoseph Corlett, LLC
