Help needed on seating , carpet, curtain replacement

Hello !

I am looking to add more seating space in the living room area perpendicular to the grey couch. Also, the carpet might be be bit small for the space. Please provide suggestions on what colors and type of seating, carpet will suit this space.
We plan to replace the curtains with white shutters. Any feedback on this, please do share.

I would put your chairs on the opposite side, facing towards the entrance and buy a long bench seat for along with window with space underneath for toy storage. It looks like you need entry storage? Maybe try your small table beside the TV so you have a drop area for purse/keys etc as you enter if there is room?

First I would try to reposition the furniture (see plan). I don't have any dimensions so just going by your photos but try moving the sofa more centered on the wall and move the tv also further up on the wall. That might leave room for you to place a coat tree for storage at the entrance.

Then a larger rug (the one I show is from Ruggable and goes in washer/dryer), accent pillows to coordinate with your gray/yellow colour scheme, A bench under your window with a few accent pillows and would work giving you extra seating plus storage. The one I show is a Kallax from Ikea.

Thanks for the comments. I'm going with some Bruce on sale at Home Depot for $3.98/sq. ft. It's the same as the original samples our guy brought over, but after looking at various different models at HD it somehow doesn't seem like the bevel is that pronounced anymore :-). Anyway, I figure if I just can't live with it I can have him refinish and that would fill in the bevel gaps, right? The finish looks like gloss whereas my current floors aren't, so I might need to do that anyway if the difference is too obvious. Are there down-sides to putting another layer of finish on pre-finished flooring?

Curtain rod replacement help needed

My window span is 140 inches and the rods I ordered came with 4 brackets also, but I only used 3 and it's fine. No bending at all, and I have fairly heavy drapes hanging up. We open and close those drapes a few times each day too. The only issue I had was that the bracket started pulling away from the wall so I had to use longer screws. .

That might be tile which would be great for allergies. You can definitely find wood-look tiles that will get you that look. A few tiles need to be sealed and you don't want to mess with that but most tile will be fine. Linoleum is good for allergies and is relatively green, but it still might bother your kids. Ask their pediatrician maybe?

What are the colors in your kitchen? I think neutral would go best as suggested, but show a picture of room(s) so we can get a better perspective. Love the curtains.

Thank you ! Won’t the yellow sofa chairs be too bulky to place in the middle of the room ?
