Your room cannot really contain the two sofas. You have no room for any accent chairs. But everyone has to work within a budget so let's see if we can make the best of this situation. Place the two-seater in front of the window and the three-seater as you walk into the room. (Hope there is enough room before you hit the column.) It's the only way you can possibly hope to be able to view a TV which I assume will be placed over the fireplace. After moving the furniture post new pics of the space so we can assist you with area rugs. This is a good place for pattern and color. You'll be surprised at how much better the room can appear. Work on the layout first, then the rug, and last paint and or wallpaper. Frankly with the right art and accessories, the room might not need either. Is this the front door to your home? Is there any way you could move the sofa out of the entryway? You could face the sofa to the window - center it on the fireplace and window. It does not have to be perfectly centered in the room - and as much of it as possible should clear the door. So the sofa would be facing the fireplace, the window, and you have a view of the door. I think that placement would be much better than what you have going on now. You could get a tv lift cabinet and put it in front of the window. And your tree art is fine over the fireplace. If you like it, use it. Metal art or a mirror makes sense over a fireplace. The couch looks very close to the fireplace wall but maybe it’s the angle of the picture. I agree the shelves are too full. (One large piece is better than 3 or 4 or 5 little pieces.) I would remove the top shelf altogether or just leave it bare. There’s no need to decorate above your head.
