I've had my 36" Bosch 800 series for 3 1/2 months now a love it. After using a coil top electric most of my life this thing is wonderful. The individual timers are great for cooking rice, oatmeal etc. I like the power control scale is nice and wide so it is easy for my fat fingers to hit the correct level. I didn't do the flush mount because I was concerned it might be more of an issue with the cut-out in the granite if I ever have to replace the cooktop.

OK. Thanks. As I understand your explanation, the installation and fabrication was correct unless I wanted to get really specialized. That wouldn't have been worth it to me - I'm fine with it as installed - assuming that it actually works once I get to use it :-). I am moving in tomorrow so I have no idea whether toilets will actually flush etc. It's still a work in progress but I will at least have a shower and a toilet - fingers crossed. Hopefully I will be able to figure out how to turn on my shower which has a three way diverter and multiple valves :-).

@aspen75, I have that same griddle that I use on mine. I understand and experience what you are saying and it is a bit of a disappointment. However, it has never hindered my cooking abilities on it. I mainly use my griddle for fish, shrimp, or pancakes (DH sometimes uses it for squash and zucchini) and because the heat ends up dispersing throughout the griddle, I never have issues with the food I cook. Sometimes I might have to move my fish or shrimp around as it cooks, but it still cooks. I'm still very pleased with my Wolf and so glad I went with it over gas, which we had before and which definitely had far worse hotspots. I have not tried a cast iron griddle on mine because I like the ease of cleaning the one I do have. Plus, I have a Blackstone on my patio just off my kitchen and I use it a ton in the spring, summer, and fall when I truly need a griddle ;)

The only reason you would be concerned about installing stone on a floating floor is if the cabinets are installed on the floating floor. Which they should never be. The fridge, range, dishwasher all go over a floating floor. But not cabinets. The floating floor should be installed around the cabinets with enough space for expansion/contraction. Cabinets are installed directly over nailed or glued product. Engineered stone weighs about the same as granite so there is no significant difference in any issues caused by the weight of the product. It sounds as if may not have knowledgeable people assisting you in your install.
