It would help if we could see the openings.. in daylight.. without curtains… are they doors?..windows?..in any case curtains that close to a fireplace may be a hazard..

The wall didn't NEED the wallpaper, and the windows don't need vertical blinds!

Take better pictures with the verticals pushed to side, and all the curtains off the wall. Show more pictures, other angles of the space and further back.

It would also make a difference to see the views…if any …

Thanks for the advice so far! Will post pictures in the daytime tomorrow, but they’re patio doors to a small patio with a divider wall. So, no views and we never have the doors open. Can’t take the vertical blinds down, we rent so I was just trying to cover them up. Fireplace is never used since we live in Southern California.

You rent but you wallpapered??? And you are worrying about taking down, storing, and re installing vertical blinds when you leave?

Where the heck is all the yellow cast coming from the whole room look yellow. IMO lighting first and IMO all LED 4000K to take the yellow out of the space .Witout seeing the wallpaper how can we even begin to help \I wou take those verticals down and put up just the drapes store the binds in a clset when you move out you will need to remove the wall perp the drapes and rehang the blinds I did it many times when we rented.

of course you can take the vertical blinds down! Those seriously have to go. otherwise, nothing you put up is going to look good. (if they were black or dark gray, it would be slightly better. but that bright white against that wallpaper?? heck no. and BTW, is it peel and stick wallpaper??)

are you doing a tv on that wall? if not, find a nice piece of art to hang above the fireplace

Try this:

Two rods installed as high as possible. One white draperies panel for each window stacked back.

During the day, open the verticals. It should "hide" under the drapery. Never close it; as in ignore it. Close the draperies instead. Over fireplace, hang art with a lot of white in it.

Wallpaper was an added expense that was not necessary.
