Anybody using touchless faucets?
Comments (7)We have these in one of my workplaces, and they don't work flawlessly. The operatory sinks will sometimes not go on even if you are waving your hands like crazy. Then they will go on spontaneously at full blast when you aren't anywhere close. There is no manual override. The toilets do not flush automatically all the time either. However, they do have a separate push button, luckily. One restroom though, every single toilet or urinal would flush as you walked through the room: I used to skirt the wall trying to see if I could get by without it happening....See MoreKitchen faucet technology similar to Delta Touch2o?
Comments (8)I had the Delta Touch20 faucets in my last kitchen (main sink and bar) and they were awesome. In five years I only changed one set of batteries and they worked flawlessly. I need this setup because my daughter is short statured and she can reach to touch the faucet but not the handle (unless we move it, but we are probably not going that way as it would require a cabinet redesign). We are doing our new kitchen and I really like the look of the Ladylux, but I have two potential concerns after looking at the documentation and wanted to run these by the group. 1) The install looks pretty complicated versus the Delta. Is that the case? 2) Is it battery operated or a plug in? And if battery operated, what are people's experience in how long the batteries last? 3) Probably most importantly, is the entire faucet touch sensitive? I need the very tip to be sensitive as my daughter cannot reach the top or back. It looked like the end of the faucet may not be touch sensitive per a diagram I saw in the Grohe manuals. 4) What is the quality of the Grohe versus the Delta? Thanks for your advice! Comments (6)I've been using faucets without touching them with my messy and/or bacteria-laden hands for decades, without any new technology (that's just one more thing to break). All you need to do it move the single faucet handle with your arm, so unless you're a petite (or at least short) person, you can reach to do that......just make sure your faucet handle is longer than 3" or so. It was easier with a top handle than a side handle, but after a few weeks I got used to it and do it now with my kitchen's side handle faucet....See Moretouchless faucets
Comments (22)@CD if it was actually running, and in the "on" position, then yes it would keep running until you manually turn it to the "off" position. But if it's in the "on" position and not actually running when the power goes out, then it does not turn on by itself. You won't have any water come out until you manually turn it "off" and then use it like a manual faucet - until of course the power comes back on. And to clarify, mine doesn't have a touch feature - it's a touchless hand wave. One other thing: I did get a Delta bathroom that was either touchless or touch on/off, and I ended up returning it because it said right in the instructions that it would not work at all without power....See Morefatcatz
