Smallest Shower Ever

The ensuite bathroom has the smallest shower I've seen:

Is there any design in which the shower could be different?

I'm debating knocking out some of the closet space in the bedroom behind the bathroom, widening the shower, and then putting a glass wall that divides the shower from the counter, and keeping that open. But that seems like a renovation headache and would obviously increase costs/time. Plus, I've heard that those glass half-dividers are more stylish than functional.

Can't think of a way to make that 30x30 shower better. Or the best way to add storage in there (not wanting to keep the current wire rack monstrosity).

Any wild ideas for me? Seems like it might just be replacing the vanity, adding a couple floating shelves above toilet, and maybe replacing shower door.

Wonder? (with 5ft but I don’t know length) and see modifications below.

Toilet: you have 30” but would work if you added a narrow model.

It doesn’t have to feel cave like and you could even build out a bit for storage.

Vanity: would be under window and there are mirror options if concerned.

Shower across corner near door and being diagonal you will get a roomier feel. Reverse door’s opening.

Do you want to keep all four bedrooms? Maybe consider combining two bedrooms and creating a real master bath. Most people today would consider that bathroom unworkable as a master bath.

No flowers for me on my Arabicums. My oldest one that I repotted into a Papercrete pot that I made. I just repotted it again into a different pot as it was not happy in the new one. I am assuming it may be a combination of things. New pot may have been leeching limestone from itself, lime in concrete doing something and also it seemed to retain a lot of moisture. Time will tell. Younger Arabicums of different sizes all making good progress. Interesting thing. I pruned a few of my Obesum's last year and again this year and they all produced considerably smaller blooms this year. Not in relation to your Arabicums, just wonder if pruning that often almost starts to miniaturize as in Bonsai's? Rick

Well, congratulations, Christy! Since the plant is so tiny and the leaves are in contact with mulch, the leaf cutter can be just about anything, insects like JBs to caterpillars. You may want to stop by un-announced at night to see if you see the culprit(s). But normally, hydrangeas do not suffer much from leaf cutting pests. By that, I mean a pest will not defoliate a whole bush like JBs can due to some roses. I have some leaf cutter bees in the area and I take no action because their damage is limited or occurs late in the season (when the leaves are bound to dry out in the fall anyway). You may want to take a picture for reference purpose too and compare it to another taken in a few days or a week. If there appears to be no change, the pest may have moved on. This is an useful way to track such problems.

I am a stubborn woman. The tub is 5'6". The bathroom is actually 5"5.75". I ran the PEX with a friend/hourly guy. Then the plumbers hooked it up and roughed it in. (I actually had to redo part, but never mind!!!) Then I set the tub. Theoretically, it should be easy because it comes on these no vibration pads and it literally just sits on the floor. But I didn't figure for plumbing sticking out of a wall in a room smaller than it was after getting it through a small door and into an ALCOVE!!!! I cried before I succeeded, I'm not ashamed to say. I was so scared of cracking it. i do glass because my husband is incapable of closing a curtain properly and has caused much damage because of that. These swinging doors with a fixed panel and a rain shower head are the absolute best for that. He can't point the shower head out of the tub area (another favorite trick of his) or leave a sliding/swinging door partly open.

You could enlarge the shower in one axis by stealing some of the adjacent closet -- even 18 inches might make the shower feel much more spacious, but it's still going to be closed in because you can't' widen the glass portion unless you open the wall next to the sink.

The place I'm renting during my renovation has a 30" x 34" shower stall. It could be worse. I'd put a wrap around shampoo niche for extra elbow space in there as well.

You clearly need a recessed 72" mirrored medicine pantry too.

Can you switch things around? Possibly putting the shower where the toilet and sink are and putting the sink where the toilet is - things like that.

That is a tiny bathroom. I'd rather have it though than no bath there at all, and I'd find a way to make do. We did live in little two bed bungalow several years that has a 32x32" shower, glass door. It served it purpose even if not luxurious ;) I'd need storage in that bath before considering a larger shower. Is there a piece of wall where you could put a shallow between studs cosmetics and products cabinet. They can hold an amazing amount of things. Wondering too if you could slip in a slightly wider and taller vanity and still meet code. My master bath now took a bit of getting used to, it has a 37" vanity (meaning tall, I am lucky to have 7' wide now after paying my dues with a tiny master bath). Now that we've lived here a while, I appreciate the storage it provides.
