New build kitchen dilemma

Our new build is almost finished. Our kitchen cabinets, trim, and doors are SW Pure White. Our wall color is SW Agreeable Gray, and the island color is SW Riverway. Our countertops are Silestone Eternal Statuario. I loved the countertops when we picked them out - I love white quartz with subtle grey veining, and this is really the only Silestone option with subtle veining. Unfortunately, the countertops looked gorgeous in the retailer, but in my home, they look pink. So I am looking for a new paint color for the cabinets/island or a white quartz recommendation that works with SW pure white. Our kitchen gets a lot of natural light and faces south. I'm not sure if the warmth of the southern light is drawing out the pink in the countertops or if something else is causing it. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Amielynn: First of all, a huge thank you to you and your husband for your service!! I hope his disability doesn't prevent him from enjoying his life and family. My DH retired in 1985 (yup! we're old), so I know all the struggles of military life you've been through. He was a pilot in Viet Nam, shot down, but no permanent disability. He did go through prostate cancer treatments (agent orange). Now to your windows. My biggest advice if this is your long term home, is to not rush into anything. I like the idea of those temporary shades in areas where you need privacy .. bedrooms and baths. I had Sherwood Shutters in a previous home, and loved them. They were so much better made than the ones in the store. They were like a piece of furniture. We did the entire house, a little at a time. A lot easier to clean than wood blinds, although I love wood blinds, too. I liked the fact that the entire shutter could be opened all the way when I chose. Good luck in your new home! Thanks for all the comments. I cannot have equal size uppers other than as drawn because of the placement of the window and the beams (it is a new build at the framing stage). I appreciate the comments about the backsplash and need to figure that out. I really do like practigal picture - but the cabinets are the same size but there is more on one side than the other. I do have an island on that is 8 feet by 5 feet and the wall with the range is 20' long.

To get any decent feedback you can help yourself out by posting a scaled drawing showing the room dimensions with existing window and door location, as well as door swing. Also, is the rough plumbing already installed? If so, show those locations as well. If plumbed/installed, can any or all of the fixtures be moved? Tub? Toilet? Sink? Etc. If plumbing can be moved, bonus points for showing which direction the joists in the floor run, and noting what rooms are on the other sides of the bathroom walls.

@John Creek do you have any installation photo of the Regretta? I'm actually thinking of intalling the Hallmark Leeward Regretta in our kitchen and then the Hallmark Organic 567 in Gunpowder in the rest of the house. The colors and look are almost identical (I have sample boards of each), although the texture is a little different since the Organic 567 has more scrapes and texture. But the Regretta being waterproof, seemed a better fit in our kitchen. The living room is a step down, so the transition is not a big deal in there, but we do have to other rooms (dining and office) that I would like to keep the Oragancic 567 as well, but it flows into the kitchen via a doorway, so I might just keep it all the Regretta, even though I love the look of the Orangic 567. The 567 will go up the stairs as well (off the dining room). I'd love to see photos of the Regretta in a real house. There are very few photos out there. Post some if you have any. Any info would be helpful. Thanks!

Choosing leds with less warm temp ratings can help. 3500k or 4000k are two you can try.

Could be your lighting, not the paint. Go for brighter, "whiter" lamping for your LEDs, at least 3500K. Do that first before you change the paint color.

I agree with all the good advice you have so far. Let me add, SW Agreeable gray has taupe (with violet undertones) in its make-up. Possibly this is altering the tone of your counters? Plus, if you have UV filtering windows, this could be filtering out certain colors. Finally, I have found almost all of SW's whites have a grayish/bluish undertone. Compare their pure white or even their whitest whites to Stainmaster's Clean white and you will see what I mean. Carry your sample to friend's homes nearby with the same Southern window light and see if their wall color alters it, before you change your mind.

I just looked up the description of your countertop.

Statuario

A bluey white surface with light and bright veins in grey and pink hues.
A statement of colour and harmony.

Here is the picture Silestone used to show your countertops

I tried to create a close match the color of the chairs and cabinets.

Now here are the same two color swatches over Accessible Beige

And the same two color swatches over BM Lilac.

You picked a countertop with a fair amount of pink. It looks great with BM Lilac paint.

Pure white looks great with Accessible Beige, but too yellow with BM Lilac

Before picking a new white for your cabinets and a new color for your walls we need to also know your floor color and if the paint colors are going through the rest of your home. Is the trim throughout the home Pure White? Are the walls in the rest of the home going to be painted Accessible Beige? What is your favorite neutral?

allycinwonderland - I found that a white quartz tends to go gray or pink. The quartz in my bathroom and laundry room lean more gray. My quartz probably does not have the veining that you want, but it is more gray than pink hued.

Here in the laundry room it is up against SW Pure White window trim over the sink (the trim/window skirt meets up with the quartz).

SW Pure White door trim on the opposite wall with my quartz. The wall paint is SW Basalt Powder.

Here is the quartz with a SW Dorian Gray bathroom cabinets. Walls are SW Basalt.

And in Master with SW Repose Gray. Walls are SW Origami.

For our kitchen, I went with a marble. It has the perfect color of white to match my SW Pure White trim! You can see a tad of trim to the left. The cabinet color is SW Polar, which turns out is a tad grayer than the trim. We only have a couple of places where the trim meets the cabinets, so someone would really have to study the differences in color. I am one of those! 🤣
