Comments (5)I agree that painting your stone is not going to give you an updated look. I would either embrace it or remove it entirely. Your greatest impact is going to be in painting the stucco and trim, front door and garage door. All of those except front the front door should be the same color. I would recommend picking a warm gray or taupe color out of the stone. This will both downplay your stone and bring the house into a more contemporary pallet. For your front door I would consider a dark rich color. As K Lawrence said, go big with the light over the front door; perhaps something with simple lines on a bracket. As far as painting the brick, I like your brick, and would try fixing the color of the stucco and trim first and see what you think. But this is also a house that wouldn't look bad with the stucco, trim, and brick all painted the same color....See MoreHelp!! Need update on Exterior
Comments (13)A neutral gray will look best IMO. I don't see any reason to use a metal roof above the garage. The house is pretty chopped up visually already. I would not add another material. I would give some serious thought to eliminating the arched windows and bays over the garage. Should you decide to paint or limewash your brick, Romabio makes the best product for this application. If you attempt to use acrylic paint on brick it will peel off. Maybe your home could be adjusted to look more like this....See MoreNeed ideas to update exterior of the house
Comments (5)This house has a lot of potential. Find a new home for the trash cans. Replace the entry door and storm door with an updated version ( nothing fancy). The stormdoor should be full glass with the trim painted the same color as the door. Paint the house all one color. sage green with white trim, medium gray with white trim, etc . Then paint the door a nice contrasting color. I would try power washing the driveway rather than doing an expensive replacement. It can then be enhanced with large pots of flowers, etc. If the garage doors are functional paint them whatever color you paint the body of the house. Adding nice, larger lights by the entry door and near the garage doors would amp up the look. Invest in professional landscaping/ hardscaping. That alone will make this house sing....See MorePPF.
