Taking into consideration the paint colour is Winds's Breath which seems to blend-in with some of the tiles, I would suggest a white shower curtain (with a waffle texture), a white roman shade for the window, and a white textured mat. I think the paint colour will tone down the yellow in the tile colour. Note: There are many different whites, I would choose one that coordinates with your vanity.

I ordered a white shower curtain. This rug looks off to me. What’s wrong with it? Too long, too short, too narrow? I can’t extend to the door bc then the door won’t close.

Did you try a flatweave rug? the one you have seems to have a pile. With a flatweave you'd be able to either have a longer runner of simply a mat centered with your vanity.

I would place only 1 mat and leave space between the mat and the vanity.

Would the rug look good pushed up against the tub? The rug is meant to be used as you step out of the tub.

I can try that. The door prevents me from moving the small rug into the room more because it won’t close with the rug. I’ve decided to return these two and will look for something else. Probably for just in front of the tub I think?

I think that would look better, unless you need the rugs for warmth underfoot.

The floor is definitely cold but we usually wear slippers. Getting out of the shower is the only time we’re really barefoot in there. Oh well, was hoping for a balanced solution but until the door is replaced I’ll have to just keep it in front of the tub 🤗

When we replace the door I can probably just do one long one.

The ivory one is ok, but snug it up to the tub. When you get a longer one, I would go with pattern.

I agree. I actually just threw those flowers in there so something was in there and the coral color seems to go ok. I might try to find a soft coral pattern longer rug and maybe some art with coral in it. I admit I’m no good at color coordination though!

I think you need a decorative rug with a warm pattern that coordinates with your floor. Colors like your flower arrangement would work nicely. I’d use a separate bath mat for getting out of the shower. The current placement is way too close to the toilet for my comfort.

The new paint color looks nice. You just need art/decor.

@Kelly Jones thank you :) I’d say my eye is drawn to this combo most but DH miiiight go crazy if I put up more florals, ha! He accused me of being a grandma today :P as I snuck the old toilet paper sheep on the wall out of the powder room and hung the florals (thanks, 3M!) No offense to any grandmas! I wonder if I can find this rug patterns in a coral color… or something for the wall in these colors that is abstract

It doesn’t matter what else you throw in there — the gray walls (and anything else gray) still clash with the tan floor.

Paint the walls or get a new floor.

This is current color but the rug is up against the tub now not like in this picture. Still painting a small section where I had to repair the wall but generally it’s almost done.

Also note the new white curtain

The white curtain does not add anything to the space (and the bright white of it clashes with your soft white trim and vanity)- if it’s waterproof then use that as the liner and use something with color/pattern for the outer layer.

Ok, thank you @thinkdesignlive I guess it makes sense then to pick a color from the art I choose? I have a hard time envisioning what would work and patterns give me all kinds of doubt. Appreciate the input!

And I’d have your towels match that sea salt/beach glass color of the shower curtain.
