Awkwardly places windows - window treatment suggestions?
Comments (18)We had Silhouettes in our last Philly house and I didn't love them. Do people not like those wood slat blinds anymore? Have they gone out of vogue? I do like the idea of a fabric blind a lot. Hopefully we can find some options that will work with the paint color. So hard!! Graywings - the paint color is Wedgewood Gray - we've used it before (with wood blinds now I think about it) and love the color. This is the 3rd house we've had a Wedgewood Gray bedroom in. We're such creatures of habit. Lol. Here it is in our Hoboken house. Do you like it with these blinds? Or not enough color?...See MoreWindow treatment suggestions
Comments (12)The overall inside width is about 111". Do they make shades that wide? Otherwise each individual window is about 20" between the mullion. The depth of the frame/mullion is only about 1/2" so not sure how well inside mounts would work here. Or could the shade width cover part of the frame, and then I could mount the top casing? If doing that maybe I could make cornice to hide the shades when up....See MoreWindow Treatment Suggestions Please!
Comments (3)I’m not sure you would be happy with faux Romans on all three. The shade would be hung on the door itself and to keep the treatments aligned, the shades on the windows would have to be a inside mount and would cover most of the top panes. If you choose an outside mount, to open the door, the treatment has to clear the door and the two windows would have to be hung at the same height. I like the way you have positioned the console under the two windows. It gives the impression that the windows are long. I would treat the windows just as the French doors. Imagining that the Middle French door is your double window, with console in front, hang all the rods at the same height and wide, so drapery can clear for functioning French door....See Morewindow treatment suggestions anyone ?
Comments (11)We are mainly interested in keeping the house cool. Specifically during Texas summer. The back windows are pointing towards 8 acres with a tree farm, so there is plenty of privacy. There is a second floor open loft area that also has a view of the backyard from the top windows you see on the original picture. We would like for the windows to be unobstructed to allow the amazing backyard view to be enjoyed at different points of the house. There will also be a fake beam on the vaulted ceiling. Will add a few more pics to give you more context of the space...See Moreemilyam819
