You just want the windows cased? Basic casing is about $.30 a foot and $1 a foot for install is on the high side. The usual material you would want would be mdf. Vinyl is for the outside. So a 3x6 ft window would be about 20 ft (this is linear feet and you have to add a little to the window). Sure there is some waste so your total cost would be about $30. Now there might be some extra work involved with matching up to the stool. So not a huge cost $600 for 20 windows but it is one of those areas that a builder can save some money on. It should be noted that some trim (even just paint quality) can be $2 a foot.

You have a wonderful MCM/prairie type home. Don't try and second guess what others may or may not do with it when you sell it because invariably you'll spend way too much money and guess wrong. Just freshen up minimally with the front door, the power washing of the front walk and some plantings. Your house color is PERFECT for the style of house. Please do not change the colors! I say that as a professional artist with a love of house styles. I agree about painting the door a complementary color such as a deep burnt orange or a deep red. On the right side, I'd find a nice square planter that has a prairie type of look and put some flowers in it to offset the off balance of the brick stoop on the other side. Then I'd put the money into landscaping to make the house look welcoming. All your plants are the same height. You need to vary the height a bit so that it has some dimension. I would put a larger bush, maybe a flowering type on either side of the front door. That will help give the front door some importance too. Then add some plantings in different heights. Plant some bulbs right now for some spring color. Make sure your backyard is welcoming and inside if you want to sell, make sure it's not cluttered and depersonalize the house.

Just make a ledge just below the bottom of the windows about 8" below and the width should be around 15-18" to accommodate up to a 75" HDTV. The ledge would run the entire length of the windows. You can built-in shelves for DVDs and other stuff you would be using with your TV too or just make it look like a bookcase. The height of the ledger would depend on how high your bed is in relation to the viewing position of the TV.

I just edited this post because I convinced my husband it needs to go. I'm just not happy with it in the room. The return has just been initiated and now I'm on the hunt once more. As far as decor, I really love window pane decor, especially cathedral. Will that work? Maybe two, or one in the middle and something different on both sides? For centerpiece a few options that popped in my head are * A centerpiece with green in it? topiary. * Urn with green leafery and lemons. * Clear vase with flowers I'm not even ready to think about a rug yet lol.
