Consider true white for the walls and ceiling, then go with a darker neutral for the flooring/rug and add color with your other upholstered furnishings. Use white mini-blinds within the window frame for privacy, if needed so you can limit curtain/drapery panels to covering only the side of the window frames and the wall beside the windows -- leaving as much natural light as possible entering the room. Trying different bulbs in existing light fixtures and/or adding floor lamps in the corners could be worth considering.

The big problem is that there's no cohesion in the style of the room and furniture. The dark leather sofa and bench don't work with the white TV cabinet and slipcovered chair. I think your first goal should be to minimize the couch. I agree with throw pillows. A friend of mine had a similar couch problem. She planned to replace the couch when she moved but she didn't want to do it yet. Her solution was to mimic the look of couches that have the cushions upholstered in a different fabric from the frame. She hid the back cushions with throw pillows and covered the bottom cushions with a large piece of matching upholstery fabric. It looked really good and help camouflage and update an outdated dark leather sofa. If you can easily remove the top of the bench and have access to a staple gun, it will be easy to recover it. I'm not handy at all and I've done similar recovering projects.

Unless you have no privacy concerns and are already planning to use only sheers ... and though I am likely the only one that would recommend it ... do at least consider white vertical blinds (vinyl or wood depending upon your budget) for your window-walls. They'll provide more privacy and light control options -- and white blinds tend to visually "disappear" better than reams of fabric hung on the wall. The "dry bar" seems totally irrelevant to the space. Would want the walls of the niche painted the same color as the walls of the room. If this is a rental, I'd add shelving above the base cabinet. If you own this condo, unless you have a specific use for this feature as is, consider removing the cabinets and adding plain bi-fold closet doors installed within the niche and painted the same color as the walls to make them visually disappear as much as possible -- a lot more useful since we all seem to need more closet space. I do like the look of your sofa. You may want to rethink your placement of it, though -- especially if this space is a living / dining combo -- so use your sofa as the room divider. If there is to be a television in this room -- unless you are placement limited by a cable connection -- you may find that putting the television in the corner between the two windows yields the least glare.
