Surface water on pool deck is not draining properly

Mitch
last year

Our pool deck has surface water that is not draining properly. To the right of the drain, the deck has been lifted 4 inches due to palm tree roots (the palm tree has since been cut down). Because of the lifted deck, the surface water now pools to the left of the drain instead of going down the drain. We don’t have plans to re-pave the deck for several years so are looking for a low-cost alternate solution. We were thinking about:

Option 1:
Where the surface water is pooling, fill in this low point with concrete so that it’s now level with the side that’s been lifted. Not sure if this will ensure surface water will properly drain.

Option 2:
Cut out the grout to create a channel for pooled surface water to reach the drain.

Are there other better ideas for addressing this problem?
