Getting ready to order cabinets - Help with pulls please!
Comments (19)a2gemini, these pulls were directly from Kraftmaid. They call them Baluster. I'm sure they're manufactured from somewhere else, but I wasn't able to find them from Googleing "Baluster" that's probably the name Kraftmaid gave them. I will look at the box label when I get home and see if it has any clues. Kellienoelle, Bringing pretend kitchens to reality was one of the most stressfull things I have gone through in a while as I am a committment-phobe also. The many, many details that needed to be decided on was just too much! A note about the different size pull, I originally ordered 9" for larger cabs and 6" for smaller. When they came in, the 9" were not just longer, but larger in every way. They were a larger diameter, had longer shafts, etc. Putting the smaller ones in the same run as the larger ones didn't look right. I'm not sure if this will be the case with yours. We just decided to use all the same size. What size are the cabinets above the fridge wall? Our smallest cab was 15" tall, I've attached a pic of that cab with our 6" pull on it. My other suggestion regarding your upper row of small cabs is to put a coordinating knob on those cabs. I've seen this done in instances where the cabs are too small for the pulls to look right. I think since the cabs are consistant along that one run and the only ones that small, it may look good. Just a thought!...See MoreCabinets are going in! Still need pulls - help, please!
Comments (24)Some of our appliances are in. The fridge and freezer columns are in -- love those!. Advantium is in & I am experimenting a little, but don't want to make messy pans because the dishwasher won't get hooked up until the sinks do, after the counters go in. The appliance installer discovered I was missing a few parts for the steam oven (open box purchase at 70% off), so I have to wait for parts to arrive from Gaggenau. The Wolf range is in, but because it was a floor model for several years, the installer suggested we schedule a maintenance check for safety before we use it, since o rings may have dried up or other issues. I am still going back and forth on hood choices -- that has been the hardest appliance choice for me in the whole kitchen. It's such a visible item that I want something attractive, but still functional. Sleek, baffles, 1000 cfm and under $2k has been hard to find....See MorePlease help me pull this pulled from dumpsters' bedroom together
Comments (21)Greywings, I have been coveting glass lamps lately so that is a great place to see if a small change would help! Jrueter, that looks great! I will show DH for all I could find last night were white washed walls. Thanks Grandmaof3, Accents are a great idea too. I will be honest I would love to like the room with just a change of paint color and a few small accents! Nosoccermom, I love the pics you posted and the natural pine is soooo lovely. I think mine might take a bit of sanding but I can try on the smaller pieces first! I already have an eggplant hall and navy guest bedroom abutting this room:( Maybe I will change the guest to grey and use the navy here! I am going to try a few paint samples on sat. to try and find a paint color first and after that if the pine pieces still make me say meh I will than decide how to change them out. Would a blue grey work the present comforter has dark grey with silver and robins egg accents. But I was afraid that a light blue might bring even more yellow undertones out of the wood. Thanks again!...See MoreHelp needed please -- to pull out or not to pull out?
Comments (7)LWO - I'm reading into your statement, but are you saying that Grohe is a crappy quality faucet? Correct me if I'm wrong. We've had a Grohe LadyLux Plus faucet for years without any problems. It doesn't have to be reset from spray when you turn it off. We love it. When we go to my sil's new house, I can see that that is one place she skimped. Her faucet is a piece of crap. Our Grohe has held up with heavy use and when we remodel we will use the same faucet and add another Grohe to our prep sink. However, if I loved the Kohler Karbon as much as you seem to, I'd try to swing that one if at all possible. I think it's a really cool faucet but I just couldn't justify the cost for *me.* Oh, and I wouldn't go with the cheap screw-on spray attachment....See Moregardengrl66 z5
