Punk, We are a couple years away from being able to completely retire and snowbird in Sedona. These chairs are intended for that house, so I won't be using them for a while, but couldn't pass them up for that price! MM, I will see how they clean up before I decide. They are a warm cream color and would work well in almost any setting if they come clean! If not, then I will look for some fabric for them. Janet, thanks. It is actually "Restor A Finish" no e on restore. I bought it at Ace Hardware and it is a one step rejuvenator for wood finishes. Works quite well. Jeanne, thanks, I hope they clean up too! At first, I was thinking of redoing them and painting the wood some accent color, but they are really quite nice and I think I would prefer not to ruin the wood finish. Nana, I seem to see something similar in almost every decorating magazine. DH wasn't too thrilled, but I just told him its my house too, and I liked them! (period, end of sentence!!) LOL Marlene, that TS usually has amazing prices on their furniture. I bought a large 6' tall bookcase for $2.97. It was composite board, but I wanted it for the basement and dish storage, so the price was right. Unless it is something very current and really high quality, they rarely put any high prices on the furniture. However, that being said, these chairs are custom made, very sturdy, and I saw similar ones on ebay for anywhere from $400 to $1100 per chair!! PM, Restor A Finish is great! Also, I have reupholstered tufted headboards, wing chairs, sofas, loveseats, benches, you name it. For me the worst part is pulling STAPLES, tacks are relatively easy compared to staples! I haven't pulled put the steam cleaner yet, so no decision made regarding what I am going to do with them. Thanks everybody! I admit, I was feeling pretty excited about this purchase. Can you move the direction the table is in right now? It lines up with your island; maybe switch it? I like the animal print chairs with the fireplace in the background. I'd still like to see something in a tall earthy vase, maybe twisted willow rods, in one corner back by the fireplace. I sort of like the exact opposites you have going on with the two sides of your room. You have modern, sleek and smooth on one side and then earthy and textured on the other. By bringing in items, like your placemats, you tie pieces of the two rooms together without being matchy, matchy. I still think you need art on the brick, but with the table changed out and the new items in the room, the type of artwork to be hung would be different. Are those potential items on the right side of the fireplace?

The only thing you could do with the walnut is use a black stain. For the stain to take evenly there could not be one speck of sealer/varnish remaining on the surface. Completely stripped clean. Leave them as they are or risk messing them up.

Been following and wasn't sold on the honeycomb other than you seem to really like it. But once you paired it with the pillow a few posts above, I understand the appeal. It complements nicely. The colors are quite versatile on that pink/salmon spectrum. And I really liked your original herringbone idea, too, for subtle texture in the room. I think when you have so many options for everything, having an inspiration piece like your art is a good starting point. It's ok to keep returning to it to keep a general focus for the room. I'm saying this because about 10 years ago, I had to choose carpet, sofa fabric, and wall paint color for a family room and was so overwhelmed until I found a vase I liked. It alone served as my "inspiration" piece, and my choices were centered around it. The room came together wonderfully as a result.
