Valances/window treatments for picture windows
Comments (1)I'm a big fan of bosporus flax and love your pillows! I don't know that using only valances would look terrible, but IMHO I think that panels would look better. I recently made bosporus panels for my guest room, and love the way they look. (Before I'd just had faux wood white blinds with very sheer narrow panels. I even plan to make mine wider since my window is really a little big for just one 54" panel on each side and I should have made them wider.) With your situation, I think I'd just pull the furniture (is it your sofa?) out from the wall a bit (6"-8")so that the panels could hang behind--or perhaps put your current layout on here and see if there are other ideas about how to arrange it. Without seeing the room, that's my suggestion anyway and I look forward to seeing whatever you make from your bosporus flax fabric--I'm sure it'll be pretty....See MoreWindow treatments for a NON window treatment type girl
Comments (14)We are not window treatment people either, but have started to add some as we've reno'd/decorated a few of the rooms in our house; two bathrooms and our office. They really do help to finish off a room. That said, we're not covering our kitchen bow window, or the DR bow window, though I might consider something for the DR window at some point--just for the window panes themselves, not to cover the whole bow-unit. We used Hunter Douglas' Designer Screen Shades in the Roman Shade style (ours are mounted inside the frames becuase of our window style/frame depth). The shades are very clean-lined and range in sheerness. With the sheerer weaves/fabrics, you can see outside with them down and they allow a lot of light in....See MoreTrying to find a semi sheer window treatment for a 5 window bay window
Comments (5)I recently bought a product called Veilish. It’s a window film made with fabric material. It’s semi-transparent, so it can provide indoor privacy without blocking the view outdoors. The best thing is that it is self-adhesive, and it can be installed and removed easily, so you don’t need an installation expert. I think you will definitely be satisfied with this product....See Morewindow treatment(s) for a window & slider in the same room
Comments (4)eld6161.........thanks. I too am in Florida. My second shutter vendor was here yesterday to measure and price, etc. The first told me I would find the slider "cumbersome", the second disagreed....and offered a reg. slider or a bi-fold slider. Did you have that option and did you use a bi-fold design anywhere? I do see where it would allow in more light, balance the visual appearance of the door when both open, but I hadn't even been expecting that option and I am typically NOT a bi-fold fan.....thx for any additional info you can share....See MoreRelated Professionals
