Hi DAX I had to take a look at that package and man is sure looks good, I may jump on it myself, a good value. Still looking for the air heated thermal mass floor heating link, I may have to go through old email and find the link that way, it was sent to me by a friend a while back. I have posted another interesting link below to solar heating,I had bookmarked tons of links on this, maybe to much to sort through, but i'll get there. On recessing the house into the ground "The other question that comes to mind is that obviously I need to have the trench bigger than the house so I can walk around the sides and repair it when necessary etc." I have not read any spec's on having an open space in the recessed treanch around the g/h for repair options. All the designs i've seen show direct contact with the earth using lower walls made of suitable. I plan on using just the top portion of the 10 ft. hoops which would be about 5 feet tall mounted to concrete block walls that are 4 feet high. As for the gravel thickness compactions I'll have to find the link but as memory serves me the gravel for it was less than 12 inches with 3" of finer materials on top of that. I'll get more info on this soon

Thanks Pat and Nancy! Gardenerwantable, sorry the pic isn't clear. Yup, the punch-outs for the cords to pass through are already out, no problem there. (And I know just what you mean about the option of mounting it 90° and having two punch-outs.) The problem isn't where the cords go, it's the plugs themselves, and it's only because these two have to be piggy-backed together. My thermostat isn't hardwired into the fan. It's designed so you first plug the thermostat into the outlet, and then you plug the (fan, heater, whatever) into the back of the thermostat plug. So, the two plugs are piggy-backed together. The two plugs together are almost 5" long, but the clear bubble cover on these in-use outlet covers is only 2 1/2 to 3" deep. One plug by itself works great (cover closes and it looks lovely.) Two big plugs piggybacked together, no go! I'm still thinking. Jack, thanks for your concern. You are right about electricity and water. All of our wiring is protected in 3/4" conduit, with GFCI outlets and (the ill-fitting) in-use outlet covers to be as safe as possible. You might be seeing the heavy cords of the fan and thermostat, which will be secured with plastic cable ties as soon as I figure out where the thermostat should live. I am far too chicken to have loose wires running about! I think Gardenerwantabe's ceiling fan blades just have a relaxed attitude toward life, which is a goal of mine. :-)

Hi Roseabbey, I'm Nutherokie and I have a mirror problem. I had lighted 5x mirrors hardwired in three bathrooms in our new house! It seems I can't go a day without one. I certainly can't put on makeup without one. Recently, I bought a Simple Human rechargeable cordless 10x mirror. I got it because it folds for travel, but now I've added it to my daily routine. It's too powerful to be great for general makeup application, but it's perfect for tweezing (and OCD-ing over hideous pores, but that's another issue)! Anyway, I've become a big fan of the Simple Human mirror. It's lighted with LEDs and is VERY bright -- much brighter than my incandescent hardwired mirrors. A charge lasts a long time and it's nice not to have cords in the way between charges. The light comes on automatically when you look into it. It goes off when you step away. Simple Human has their original 5x version and a new 7x version that I covet. There's a ton of reviews of the 5x and 10x versions on Amazon. The main complaint seems to be that the light immediately goes off when you step away from the mirror. That is a little bit annoying, but it sounds like they've addressed that in the most recent iterations. They're a little expensive, but they're the best mirrors I've encountered. Justine, thank you for asking this. I was actually starting a post about make up mirrors yesterday but it was running late and I had shopping to do. My DMIL gave me a lighted make up mirror that hangs on the wall. When I had my bathroom painted I took it down as it was a shiny polished brass and didn't go with my polished chrome and nickel fixtures. I am looking for a different one and wondered what everyone else uses. I bought a cheapy plastic one but it only has 5X and I need 10X magnification.
