Cheryl, it is definitely not too busy & is very symmetrical. Very pretty fireplace. My suggestion is to hang art in the frame above the mantel. I’d want art with the blue color in it to highlight the blue vases & also a restful scene since it’s a bedroom. Monet comes to mind - lots of blue. I might look for an unframed canvas that’s painted on the sides of stretcher bars & use the molding trim around that area as the natural frame. I think 3 -4” smaller than that inset size might work but you could do mock ups to test sizes. If the art has no frame it should be light weight enough to use 3M strips to hang so no nail holes. The small mirrored piece on the mantel would be moved out

@Cheryl Brown Yes - those 3M strips have saved me putting many holes in my walls! I use them on a gallery wall in my stairwell where I add & rearrange lightweight small pictures a lot! They come in sizes for various weights. I also used them to hang larger art in a bedroom - the art has no frame - it’s canvas mounted on wide stretcher bars so it is light & the strips work great. I would cringe at making holes in that beautiful trim work over your fireplace!

for my two cents, i would absolutely hang a nice piece of art in the center - i think the two vases/two fake plants/two candle holders doesn’t look right. i would keep the vase on one side (maybe with some stems for height) - maybe the two candle holders with candles on the other side).
