This site has some great info/photos and if you'll notice the second paragraph refers to Ismene as the Peruvian Daffodil. All I know is that through the years I've ordered both Hymenocallis and Ismene from various dealers but none match the beautiful Hymenocallis which I got years ago from a lady advertising in the Georgia Farmers' Bulletin...unnamed and by the time it bloomed (and I wanted MORE!) I had misplaced her address. Hope you have better luck identifying yours. They are all beautiful but some more so than others. And as for the "Peruvian Lily or Daffodil" I've been somewhat disappointed with the Ismenes I've received. The foliage isn't as glossy or sturdy and the flowers not as long lasting as the Hymenocallis..but it might have been my growing conditions or the particular cultivar. josh Here is a link that might be useful: Hymenocallis

Luna moths (not lunar) are so beautiful, aren't they? But I'm not real certain by what you mean by 'they are good'. The moths do not act as pollinators in their very short time as adults...but at least the caterpillars, though voracious feeders of a wide assortment of deciduous trees, don't collect together in huge groups. Because of that, they aren't really considered a forest pest...and THAT'S a good thing! The fully developed caterpillar is a BIG, green monster, lol. They are found in wooded areas, which explains why Jan and Rosie see them more often than some of us do. They aren't attracted to any kind of flower (since they don't feed). Those gorgeous moths have one job and that is to mate. Once that's been accomplished, they die. Few live longer than a week or so as adults.

Still have plenty of Richardsonii White Lilies...some Yellow too..These are hardy lilies.. A big THANKYOU.. to those of u who's help me get rid of some Lilies...but there is still more!!! Bonnie

Hi again! That is a beautiful rose too! I have so much trouble deciding these things, especially with roses. I guess that's why I have about ten pink roses and half a dozen apricot roses, lol. I can't make a choice between them! No, I didn't think gael was your last name. I just thought maybe you lived in Shelton and had a kid at the high school who played sports, and therefore your kid would be a Shelton Gael and you would be a Gael mom, lol. It's kind of an unusual word/name - no one at the school even really knows what it means, lol. I mean, it should technically mean an Irish person, I would think, but the mascot/symbol of the school is a Viking. Go figure. I always say we should really have a leprachaun, lol, but I guess that's not as tough-looking as a Viking. Anyway, enjoy your rose! It is gorgeous! :) Dee
