A hummingbird began building a nest on the cord of lights on covered patio. She was there for 3-4 days, left for another 3-4 days and then returned. Tne nest now appears to have partially disconnected from the wire-- was hanging vertical now looks horizontal. She has returned to the feeder but not to the nest.
We had a nest last year on lights and baby successfully hatched. Wondering if they ever build 'unsuccessful' nests? The nest is also in a high traffic area-- do we need to steer clear if she returns?
