HanStone Quartz Countertop Seam
Comments (8)We are dealing with the same issue. Our Handstone counter has a J seam. The majority of it has been epoxied and it looks fine except for a curved 6 inches which is open enough to put my fingernail in. Twice now we have had the fabricator in to look at it. They think we should be happy with their terrible work. Sadly, I have seen a counter with a j seam and you would never know that it is even there so I know it can be done. Our fabricator said that since he couldn't see the one that I saw, he couldn’t comment.. just pathetic....See Morehanstone specchio white vs msi q quartz sparkling white
Comments (2)All quartz is foodsafe, and all quartz has a fairly low melting temperature, as you have discovered. You'll have to be very careful of putting anything hot on a quartz surface if you go with this material. Heat damage is difficult to repair inconspicously on quartz. Also, resin makes up a significant percentage of the composition of quartz so yes, if you have UV light exposure on the quartz, you can expect yellowing. Comments (7)helene, everyones lighting in their home is diff. Light coming in from a north exposure is going to make colors look diff than light coming in from a southern exposure. Using 2500K lighting will look diff than 4000K lighting. Floors reflect light a diff way. Cabinets can also alter the appearnce. Have you seen the entire slab in person? You need to go see it somewhere before choosing. small samples can change over time. Take one of your cabinet doors and a piece of your flooring when looking at countertops. make sure you aren't viewing it under florescent lighting. that's how you decide on a countertop. here's a review of it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CsWqwkG4xvM Here's a warmer lighting,, and a cooler light normal daylight bulbs in a kitchen warmer toned wood elements. it looks pretty white in these pictures. compared to these others, I'd say it leans a tad gray...See MoreChristine Murray
