After weeks of looking and recovering from the sticker shock in the plumbing stores I finally went on line and ordered one. Some of the vanities I saw in the shops ranged from $2000 to over $5000 for a 36 in vanity! I'm only a poor hard working Civil Engineer and I'm not paying thousands for a @#$%# vanity! You could also try Costco or maybe Sams Club. The mirror and and the side cabinet are included. Fresca does have other styles and colors. By the way here is something interesting. Over the space of two weeks I kept going back to different sites looking at vanities. By doing so the the price dropped from $900 to $760.00 for the one I bought. Be careful of anything less than $500. Most of it is particle board or is cheaply made. Check to see if the doors and drawers are square and how well the drawers close. Good luck.

Mine is in my vanity behind the doors...the only thing is that it could have been alittle bit higher as there is a pull out that interfers with the plug if I wanted to use it with a transformer on the end of it. I am working around it by installing a 36" extension cord. This allows me to use it just fine. I like it to be able to put my electric toothbrush off the counter top. I also keep rechargable candles plugged in there.

Thank you everyone, I am ordering the Lee valley hardware. I will look for different types of wood I can use, but I agree with lowspark, I had already thought of that and decided to line my drawer as she described, also. This thread has a lot of great ideas and information, I hope it sticks around for a while. Obviously a lot of people with similar issues. I had looked at the double decker types and like them but they just don't come with as many dividers as I want. All the dividers will keep things neat, but many allot much more space than I need for each item and so do take full advantage of the space. I really don't need a space 3" wide by 3" high, for instance, just for salad forks or dinner forks. When I measured my flatware, stacking it up only required 1 1/16" wide and 2" high for 12 forks. Service for 18 could be stacked in the same space that is 3" high. I allowed more space for wider tablespoons and teaspoons that I usually have more of. I still had half the dawer left to put other items, which pre-made organizers did not, since they used up so much more space for the flatware. Anyway, most organizers keep stuff organized but do not really maximize use of the space. So the Lee Valley made allow me to do that at a reasonable cost. Otherwise, I may still decide to go custom in the future. Its kind of like stock verses custom cabinets. Custom, if well planned and well done, gets you much better use of your space. I couldn't afford the cabinets, but it might be worth some less expensive customization of the stock cabinets to maximize what I did get. Thanks again for all your help and suggestions. I think you could make one of the door switches work with a vanity door, but I've never seen one that was rated for more than 10 amps. To activate power for a GFCI receptacle you need to be able to switch a minimum of 15 amps, and preferably 20 amps. Another option may be to use a 20 amp 120 volt A/C relay that is activated by a low voltage switch in the door frame. Remcon sells a closet light relay with low voltage switch, but its only rated for 6.5 amps. I'm sure they are available for higher amperage for special uses, but its not something you will find at HD or Lowes. Bruce
