Exterior ideas for Red Brick

I have 2 photos, one of a shorter porch or a long terrace type porch, I hope to have steps all the way across the front the covered porch. Here are my color ideas as well. 5 questions:

1) Which porch do you prefer, long or short?

2) What is the most cost effective way to achieve a stone look on risers/wall?

3) Any different color ideas?

4) Any different detail ideas?

5) What do I do with the space to the right (looking at house) of the porch?

Paint the eaves and trim the grout color trending to the gray end of that taupe since you have a gray roof.. Yes, run the steps all the way across. What an interesting house.

Show pictures of the existing house, one from the front left and one from the front right so we see what you are starting with.

These things jump out immediately: 1) Remove the shutters. Shutters vs Shudders 2) the foundation color needs to either be the same color as your brick or a darker shade of the brick. 3) the walkway is too narrow, it needs to be at least 42 inches wide, or even wider 4) Your home can use a new landscape plan with wider beds. Landscaping will be the very best thing you can do to amp up the exterior of your home IMO. 5) How is your roof? I don't know if it is worn or just discolored from debris. I think a gray/green color would look great on your siding and garage. Or you could go with a deeper warmer gray. I like this green below with the brick. I would paint all of the siding and the concrete around the garage door including the garage the green you see below (or similar) and then go with your blue door.

Those shingles are too big and rustic for that smallish space...I would replace them with smaller... non wooden ones...or perhaps siding...as either will look crisper, ...more proportionate with the brick....a good accent color with brick would be a green shade that ties in with the setting better and is a more naturally earthy color to complement the brick and the surroundings

There appears to be more detail than this home can carry. I'd like to see the existing also.

Your home is a red brick Queen Anne style home that has lovely details without mixing all these different styles together.

I would not paint that gable a color. It makes it look out of place. Paint it a similar color to the roof, so it all blends in. Ideally, it should have been the red brick too. You may be able to find a color to match the brick also. I like the longer porch. I am not fond of the green anywhere on there. Its a beautiful house, please keep things simple when you do them.

Be sure to put in railings for those porch steps. The elderly and people with bad knees will THANk you.

Other ideas for gable:

--reddish cedar shakes stained to color of the bricks or roof

--old red bricks matched to existing

--charcoal brown matched to roof to achieve a continuous line across the roof.

Please provide a photo of the house as it is without your samples, which are distracting.
