Thanks for helping solve my design dilemma! (Pics)

Two months ago, I posted here trying to figure out how to update my primary bathroom...specifically, how to work around the huge (83") brown granite vanity top. I got lots of great advice!

Here is the before pic and the almost-final result..

Most people here agreed that the granite top had to go (and so did I). I couldn't find an affordable replacement, but I did find a local company that refinishes countertops. They only have other granite styles—so, no plain colors, marble, etc.—so I chose the least offensive one, an off white with brown, beige, and black specks.

I mixed up a warm black color for the cabinet. At first I installed brushed nickel handles, since I wanted to tie in the brushed nickel shower and bathtub fixtures, and it didn't look good...so I went with knurled black handles. DH installed the black faucets and towel rack.

The walls are Sherman Williams Alabaster.

The old mirror was a huge rectangle framed with a nickel-look plastic frame. The new mirrors are from Wayfair.

I was thrilled to find a washable runner that incorporates the orangey-beige of the tiles, the soft black of the vanity, and a nice contrast color! The vase is from H&M, and the flowers were from a bunch my mom was about to toss. :) They're not exactly the right color, but I like the effect.

Still left to do:

  1. Make a painting for over the tub. I started with an idea for an oil painting and then my "art brain" went crazy and it looks nothing like I had originally planned. (It was originally a large palm plant with a very small silhouette figure, with colors that tie into the rug...and the actual result is below.) This painting will end up somewhere else in the house.
  2. Replace the silver magnifying mirror with a black one.
  3. Spray paint the light fixtures (not shown) black and replace the globes.
  4. Paint the trim the same color as the walls, but in satin.

I just love how clean and modern it looks now. Thank you to everyone for your ideas and insights on how to improve this bathroom!!
