Comments (9)Mario, I don't think it's fortuniana. The leaves are not nearly narrow enough, they aren't shiny enough, and they aren't in 3's. It likely is rootstock, but unless it's Dr Huey I couldn't make a guess. Either way, it's probably a rose that only blooms once a year, and it will only bloom on wood that grows the year before. If you prune one of that type at the wrong time, you're cutting off the growth that would otherwise bloom. If you want blooms NEXT year, you can't prune now, or at all, until after it does bloom. That one has been pruned so severely it might not even bloom next year, it might take another year of growth. Either way, don't do more that minimal tip pruning until AFTER it blooms the first time. When it blooms, if it's Dr Huey it will look like this....See MoreDoes anyone know what rose this is?
Comments (14)I bought the white one from Home Depot. Do you agreed it's not, "The Fairy" originally labeled? It also grows like Wedding Dress... very leggy but the blooms are the tiniest I've ever seen. Maybe only 1". Not sure where I bought the others. If I had to guess, Home Depot. It was before I knew I could buy roses online. Not knowing the names of these roses have been driving me crazy for the past few years. Happy to have found this forum....See MoreAnyone know what variety of Patio Rose this is?
Comments (16)Hugogirl, I checked out Queen Of Elegance rose. The flowers do look similar! However the foliage is somewhat different, with QOE being a bit glossier and wavy. QOE is a new rose for 2021? I haven't run across it yet. It would seem odd they would use that rose as a Patio rose or in the breeding of patio roses when it is such a new variety. QOE gets 4' to 5' in height so wouldn't in itself be suitable for patio pot growing....See MoreDiane Brakefield
