dont know what happen to my post. Can I grow a mini indoors?
Comments (5)You can try growing a mini rose anywhere it suites your fancy. They grow roses in Greenhouses, so they can be grown "indoors" in a manner of speaking if given the proper lighting, ventillation, air circulation, humidity, temperature, nutrients, pest and disease control. What are the chances of a mini rose growing well in the average home environment? Slim to none. Besides do you really want to be spraying fungicides or insecticides inside your home if the occasion arises? Best to grow your roses outdoors on the other side of the sunroom window....See MoreMy grow light system scheme.... What do you think?
Comments (4)Yes, I probably should widen the base, although right now it is standing just fine. I Would use chains on top of the hood to adjust the lights height. I just finished building my grow light. I built the needed fixture and connected the wires. For light I am planning to use Philips Super 80 tubes. On the Philips Lighting webpage there is also give a datasheet, which contains wavelength diagram. Perhaps someone could give me some advice, what sort of tubes to use. In my opinion the 840 should be the best. Anyway the datasheet can be seen on this page: http://www.lighting.philips.com/in_en/architect/lamps_leds_gear_innovations/brochures/datasheets/fluo.php?main=gb_en&parent=gb_en&id=in_en_brochures&lang=en From there choose MASTER TL-D Super 80 P.S. I shall soon also post some pictures of my grow system....See MoreWhat is this "weed" that is growing in my yard and what to do????
Comments (1)Best I can tell from the photo is chickweed and POA Annua. The chickweed is pretty easy. A little Ortho Clover, Chickweed and Oxalis killer should take care of that. The POA Annua is going to be a problem. A few treatments of Tenacity should do it but the seeds it is dropping right now are going to give you trouble for several years. A good pre m plan and careful use of Tenacity should keep it under control....See MoreHelp! what is this growing on my Succulent and what can I do??
Comments (3)It looks like mold for sure - while it may be different kind than Nancy suggested, it is still mold. Mold grows if it has organic matter to feed on; lots of moisture and oxygen. To get rid of it, since you said it is all mixed now, repot in new soil that drains fast. It could be scooped off if not throughout the pot. But if any left, and conditions are suitable, it will likely come back. You should wear gloves (some even recommend mask) and dispose of it since some mold could be poisonous to ppl, while do not harm plants. Fungus gnats (and many other pests) do not lay eggs on very surface, more in the top layer of soil. Even if they did, eggs are tiny. I do not think you can really see them without great magnification. Having fungus gnats means there is organic matter to feed on and moisture available for them to exist. So that confirms that your conditions are right for bugs and molds to grow - perhaps consider using fast draining potting mix, with less organic matter, and watering when it is almost completely dry, throughout the pot....See Morebeckington
