Tile Color and Brick in Kitchen and Dining Room

Leslie
last year

We are working on remodeling our kitchen by extending the peninsula out so that we have more kitchen counters and storage. We are replacing everything but the fireplace and mantle, including the shelves next to the fireplace. We’ve chosen white shaker cabinets, zellige Pearl ceramic backsplash, Everleigh Cambria quartz counters and a gray porcelain tile floor that I think goes well together.

As you can see, we have an exposed brick fireplace in this room. My husband loves the brick wall by the fireplace and doesn’t want to paint it. I’m concerned the gray and brick will clash. We have old hardwood on a gunstock oak throughout the rest of the house and replacing the entire flooring isn’t an option. I’ve purchased no less than 15 tile samples and this tile is my favorite.

I also think we could add a mantle or transition flooring near the fireplace floor is an option to so that the brick isn’t next to the gray tile, but don’t have any ideas yet.

Thanks for any advice you can give.
