Can we re-flash around windows without pulling the windows out?
Comments (4)Good point by Todd. OSB will swell rather easily, which can create other issues. Most notably I'd be worried about the adhesion of the new seals... Definitely have some in depth inspection done on that if it has not been done yet...See MoreWindows with or without grid for dormer in craftsman cottage?
Comments (13)Nope. 3 single hung windows. The pictures are just examples as I'm trying to figure out what would look the best. My husband does NOT like the idea of grids downstairs. I was wondering if windows with grids upstairs would look good and give the space more character. BUT, it appears it would be the same elevation so maybe that's not a good idea. Thanks for the help....See Morecan you move existing windows without having to buy new ones?
Comments (9)Sounds like pocket windows, once again improving your chances of success. West Shore is a massive company, although they don't manufacture the windows. I believe they use Provia, however that may have changed, and/or vary by market/region. This probably goes without saying, but I wouldn't decide whether you should or should not add an attached garage based on whether or not this one window can be repurposed. That's an extensive project, the window cost is probably a drop in the bucket in terms of the overall budget. If you proceed, once you get to the phase of plans, etc, I'd call West Shore back out and see what they can do. I assume that you'll need to add windows into the newly built garage, so perhaps it could be rolled in with that. For me, I'd probably rather just give you screaming deal on a new window to avoid the hassle of carefully removing that one, worrying about potential damage and/or future issues, etc, but they may think differently. I should also add that if you are considering moving this to a separate wall of the home unrelated to the garage build, you should know that cutting in a window where none exist is a pretty extensive and costly project in its own right....See MoreHow to hide the small window above the door (without closing it) ?
Comments (10)I am sure you misunderstood me! let me clarify again. I am looking for a way to build something in my exterior ( columns / arch) to try to hide the window because it looks weird above the door. it isn’t symmetrical and looks ugly from the outside. i am not looking for ways to add privacy or add anything for the window itself, rather looking for help as to what can I do to make the entrance look much better....See More- 3 years ago
