If it were mine I would not have cut the leaves off, what is happening is perfectly normal for a transplanted plant. I hope you cut the leaves off cleanly with a sharp knife - no need to introduce another problem: fungus infection into a wound. The ice plants will end up taking over this summer, and you may have a hell of a time separating them. It looks cute now but later... You may want to plant the ice-plants into separate small pots and bury them into the larger pot so that they can be removed more easily when its time to re-pot. Ice-plants can send out a tremendous root mass for such a small plant. x

Thank you for your help. I moved the agave out onto my back screened in porch and out of direct sunlight. The spots actually turned black like a bruise, but now appear to be healing and actually turning green again. But this is so strange since agave's are supposed to be full sun. I have some babies that I had planned to put in an outside planter and it gets full afternoon sun (with no morning sun). If I gradually acclimate it and the other succulents I had planned to put in that planter, do you think they will be OK? Do you think the glass window had anything to do with the sunburn?

Perhaps it is in need of nourishment. No water and maybe it is root bound too. You could try unpotting it to inestigate, then repot if necessary. I have kept my "hardy" Agave's outside all winter and they're fine, although sometimes the ends of the leaves wilt a bit. I'm not worried about it though, because they'll drop off anyway. If yours is still relatively small, the scarred leaves will disappear soon enough anyway. Jon

Alain, that looks spot on. Now I'm confused. Ok 'Blue Glow' is a hybrid of A. attenuata and A. ocahui and 'Blue Flame' is A. attenuata and A. shawii. What I've read 'Red Margin' is A. aatenuata and A. shawii so technically it is 'Blue Flame', but just a cultivar of 'Blue Flame'. That part I get, but why do people keep calling 'Red Margin 'Blue Glow' when technically it has the same "blood";) as 'Blue Flame'. Am I confused or read something wrong? Maybe I'm reading too much into it;). 'Red Margin' is not solitary so that explains the pups;). 'Blue Emperor' is on my list. That is one beautiful Agave;).
