Funny, because we are in the process of picking paint for our soon to be finished basement. I picked Revere Pewter w/Chelsea Gray on one accent wall. I know homeagain has posted pics of her Chelsea Gray home office and Revere Pewter in foyer -- they look nice together in her pics. I was also considering Ashley Gray on accent wall (more brown, though). So, I'm interested in opinions, too.

You know, if you work with Aura colors, the initial PR on them was that they share a particular tone (iirc it's something about the kind of colorant, but someone like funcolors would know more about that) which coordinates them such that they'll all work with each other, supposedly. The game was to pick any three colors from the deck and you'd be able to make a look with them. That's why they were called "Affinity" colors. You might want to look for tones you like in that set of colors and know that they're 'scientifically' designed to be able to play well together. Hope this maybe helps you become less dazed and confused...

I wanted to use Revere Pewter too -- based on photos I'd seen, but it didn't work for me. My local store stopped carrying BM paints, so I went to Sherwin WIlliams. We wound up with Agreeable Grey tinted a little darker at 150%. Accesible Beige was another color we looked at -- along with Anew Grey. I'd check those out. Next to the TV, I agree with moving the lamp to the other side of the room. I would put art on the wall, but before deciding on size or arrangement, I would look at a side chair there -- that could be pulled up for additional seating. Try one of your dining shairs there for feel and see if the idea works. You could have a small side table -- even a garden stool that could double as another seat if you entertain, and then fill in wall decoration. ETA I see graywings had the same idea was I was typing (and being distracted).

Based on measuring a sample of Revere Pewter and formal colorimetric standards, it belongs to the yellow hue family. Here's a complete Colorography of the color. This is an objective point of view based on the color's spectral curve or "fingerprint" measured in a controlled environment - usually lit with a daylight light source called D65. Which is very different from the very murky, slippery slope of undertones which are painfully subjective and totally determined by individual evaluation. In other words, when it comes to undertone, someone's making their best guess about what they see as far as a color's inherent qualities using random lighting conditions. They could be shuffling paint chips at their kitchen table, in the front seat of their car, out in the garage, standing in their half-built castle. You really have no way of knowing.
