We have a inward swinging French patio door and would like to install a storm/ screen door that swings outwardly. Does anyone know of a place where I can buy one or order it from

Our screen doors have semi-circle inserts that can be rotated in place, to allow the screen to be removed/installed. There is a slot, and a screwdriver is used to rotate the locking mechanism. A later model screen door has a small lever that is pushed to accomplish the same purpose. The metal inserts do not fall out, they rotate in place. I have no way of knowing if your door uses the same type mechanism.

fairfieldcircle, With my back up against the jamb, I extend one arm to the right and the other to the left - something like a book. The front cover is the inside door (my right arm) and the storm door is the back cover (my left arm). This is a door installers' rule of thumb. Although occasionally there is a real reason why the above would not work, but most of the time its' best. Although porches are my first love, I've installed windows and doors for thirty years to pay the bills and have seen em all. Keep both doors' hinges on the same side of the jamb and be careful to mount the storm door handle at a height where it won't interfear with the inside doors' handle. Good Luck. You may need a door specifically made for a MH. The measurements are just a little off, but makes a big difference in the installation. Contact a MH supplier. It will cost more than from a big box store, but less than installation of a standard door. Speaking from expensive experience LOL…….
