Reading lots of posts (and not just the Harbor Freight posts) is a very good idea, because you're starting on a fun adventure, but there really is a lot to learn! First, most importantly, if you get 60-70 mph gusts at times (we have bad winds too) you'll definitely need to reinforce your HFGH to withstand the winds. Also, you'll need to secure the poly panels with more than the clips provided in the kit; I recommend adding a few screws per panel, going through the polycarbonate and into the greenhouse frame. Some people use caulk to secure the panels. If we hadn't read about these modifications here, 8 years ago, our HFGH would definitely not have survived. These kits are a great value, and mine has served me well for years, year round. But you do have to make modifications, or the structure will almost certainly sustain wind damage. There are many sad older threads in this forum from people who were not aware of the needs to make these modifications, and sometimes they lose the entire greenhouse. That's why the Harbor Freight kits are not widely respected among many hobby greenhouse owners, to be honest. Building it only as per the manual is usually not enough. You may have already read about this weakness of the kit, and taken care of these steps, but just in case, here's a link to my blog about building our own 10x12 Harbor Freight greenhouse. Building our 10x12 Harbor Freight Greenhouse Your needs for heating and cooling depend a lot on how you plan to use the greenhouse (keep plants in there year round?) I live in southern New Mexico. Our highs are higher than yours, and our lows are lower. But I would imagine you'll need shadecloth of some kind for the roof at least, and also an exhaust fan to aid with cooling, and probably other fans to help keep the air moving, 24/7. I use two small electric heaters for winter heat. I don't believe you will be able to power electric heaters or an electric exhaust fan with only a solar panel, however. This website has two different calculators to determine the heating and cooling needs for your greenhouse, depending on your climate and glazing materials. I used it to start to get a rough idea for what we needed, when we built our greenhouse. (Your HFGH uses 4mm twinwall polycarbonate, when you input the type of glazing into the calculator.) There are likely much more sophisticated calculators on the web, but these might get you started: Greenhouse heater size calculator Greenhouse fan size calculator First, please make sure that your panels are safely secured to your greenhouse frame, and I hope you'll consider some of the additional interior bracing as shown in my blog (I hate unhappy endings.) There are other wonderful blogs about the HFGH online too; just do a Google search, to see what folks have done. Then, you can start working on the more generalized questions (heating, cooling, shadecloth, benches, etc) that apply to any type of hobby greenhouse. Some things you can figure out ahead of time with careful reading, and other things will become apparent through trial and error, as our greenhouses, plants, and climates all differ. I'm having a lot of problems with my Harman Advance pellet stove this year. The main one being it will go out after about 30 minutes. I've cleaned the fire burning part of the unit (not the back motor part). I replaced the ash pan gasket last year and the gasket on the view door last week. One day the auger didn't work, the next day it did. I get more smoke smell than usual, which I think is coming from the vents that push the hot air into the room (sorry forgot the name of them right now). I even tried my old pellets from last year (which worked fine), as opposed to the new pellets just incase. Harman Advance Stove. Stove was in the house when I bought it 2 years ago. Previous owners left purchase recipe from 2001. Harman customer service is no help... they were rude to me, when I gave them my serial number they said that wasn't it, then said the serial umbers had changed (they meant the format I guess), then said oh that's old and discontinued. I was asking to confirm the type of gasket I needed because their so called dealers wanted to sell me something that looked different than what came out of the stove (round instead of tadpole and different dimensions than my owner's manual). All they said was the dealer is trying to sell you something they have in stock and you need the tadpole design, but told me to refer to my owner's manual for size dimensions. The dealers call Harman's sister company (hearthnhome) for support and they were giving the dealer the wrong info. Now I'm afraid to get more help from the dealer because they are getting wrong info. I DO NOT RECOMMEND HARMAN STOVES, they are not customer friendly. Oh and the pellet stove in my mom's house is a P38+, the replacement board they made requires that the stove be cut to install, which no one will do at your location. Who wants to uninstall a stove and bring it to the dealer?

Jhug, there has been no cash so far, and we have been through just about everything; dang. Palimsest, I got out voted, so the carpets stay, but the corner of the 2 bedrooms are loose to show the floors. Good point about keeping the carpet for floor cover while painting. The floor that I could see looks pretty nice. Got the outside of the house washed, the little garden space remulched, and the 3 awnings washed down. Termite man has treated the house. DH and his sister are still working on the junk in the basement. The area will need deep cleaning once thats out. Main floor is nearly finished. Floors need cleaned. Stove needs deep cleaned under the burners, and in the oven. A couple of hinge repairs on cabinets. I have been through the cupboards with Pinesol. I don't know if it is going to help. Most of the drawers are almost new looking, so have always been covered. The uppers are painted inside, but someone glued down a thick paper liner! It was troweled in. It is curling at the edges so I thought I'd pull it out, thats when I found the glue or mastic. I'm going to buy some liner for the uppers to cover the mess up. MIL had sheet vinyl covering the paper. I didn't know gluing down paper liner was a thing. Its thick, like a heavy card stock.

I think you have to decide if you want a formal set and then imagine how it will work with a teak floor, the casual fireplace, white bookcases, and the space in general. Suggest something more contemporary and perhaps more similar to what you normally lean towards. Mixing and matching allows a table to take on different looks, so easier to end up with a set that suits your taste
