Backsplash :: Grout Color Choice for Glass Mosaic Tile
Comments (4)Thanks for the feedback! Just picked up 2 different "TEC" grout colors: "sand" and taupe grey... I was really looking to NOT having the grout lines stand out but let the breaking light (from under cabinet halogen lights) really show the glass lines and shadows. Well, I'll do a 'dry test' today and will post the finished product later....See Moregrey glass tile backsplash for Ikea adel medium brown kitchen

Comments (11)thank you everyone for your opinions- it really helps! boxiebabe- you make me remember that there are so many colors of tantrum.....maybe I should look at one of the gold-ish ones. More choices... raehelen, they walls are actually green, though it is hard to see that in the pics. As for how to arrange the accents, I was planning on 4x4 tiles with randomly scattered glass tiles set on point. I considered subway-style tiles, but I think with the rectangles of the floor and the glass tiles being square, it might look funny. kristenfl- I'll post pics as you described tomorrow when there is light. Good idea! :)...See MoreRecycled Glass Tile for kitchen backsplash

There are a lot of little grooves and divots, which is part of what makes it gorgeous. Other than that, recycled glass looks terrific on the walls. Check the manufacturer's instructions about the base and grout. Mine, for instance, calls for bright white so that the transparent color will look right. Also, if the tiles are beveled, you'll need to use a sanded grout. Most glass tile calls for sanded in any case, but if you have narrow spaces (less than 1/8") and straight sides, you might get away with unsanded....See MoreRelated Professionals
