After a painful experience with the LG model WM2277H, let me provide some info you'll be hard-pressed to get LG to disclose: LG appears to have done an engineering design change on the 2277. The old ones have staggered "roller jets", a nozzle at the top of the door seal, and "forced water circulation." The new 2277s have *fewer* "roller jets" placed inline, no nozzle at the top of the door seal, and as far as I can tell, no longer has forced water injection via a second pump during the wash cycle (or any other time for that matter). In short, the 2277 is really no longer significantly different from the 2233 (though you'll still pay a several hundred dollar premium for it). I could not find this information out from LG's customer service (which was abysmal). I needed to call in a service order and get the scoop from the repairman. When I asked the repairman about the recirculation pump and he forwarded the question to the technician, the technician was more concerned about where I heard about the recirculation pump. When I told him LG's own specs mention this feature, the LG guy *implied* the pump was still there spraying water, but that with the angle of the drum, you will never see it. Of course, he couldn't explain why I could never *hear* the pump kicking on either (I sat through an entire washing cycle listening for it and looking for any "forced water spray" of any kind -- nothing! Whether this is LG ripping off it's customers by removing model features, or a legitimate design change, I leave to someone else to determine. But I felt ripped off because I payed for a 2277 and effectively received a lower-end 2233 that simply sloshes wet clothes around. (My wife complained that the clothes didn't smell clean after washing, as well -- especially my workout clothes.) Accordingly, I am returning the washer/dryer pair and going with another manufacturer. I wouldn't go so far as to completely pan LG. But given the features they appear to have removed from the original 2277 model, I would say that paying the difference between a 2277 and a 2233 is no longer money well-spent. And I'd hope that those who do buy an LG never have to use LG's customer support.

Does anyone have a problem with smaller loads becoming unbalanced. I've owned the washer 2 weeks and have done approximately 15 loads and so far 2 have given me the uE error and extended the wash to rebalance the load. One load didn't recognize it was unbalanced but the tub was almost violently swaying side to side, the sheets were balled up on one side, and there wasn't enough water in there to move the clothes at all. This was only one set of queen sheets. I stopped the cycle, redistributed everything and the pressed the extra water button. It seemed a little better after this, but it's frustrating that I find myself needing to watch every load to make sure it's working properly. To me it seems the washer works better with larger loads, but does not work so well with smaller loads. Has anyone else come to this conclusion? Also, my washer has never had any jet spray action, where it's spinning very fast and the water is shooting from the top onto the clothes. Is this normal? Should I see this on every wash? Another issue I'm having is I was using powder detergent (only half of what is recommended by Tide on the box)...and after each wash cycle I stopped it and looked in the dispenser and over half of the detergent was still inside. This happened on every wash, cold, warm, hot, it didn't matter. I emailed LG and attached a picture and their response was to switch to liquid detergent. And my last question is, has anyone noticed the tub "creeking?" This started about 5 washes ago and it creeks like an old rocking chair. I can hear it from the next room with the door closed. I'm wondering if I need to have a service person come out.

I seen the video of the exploded washer yesterday. Thats a tough one to figure out. My guess is the comforter when wet gets WAY to heavy for any residental washer to handle. I have a cotton queen size blanket that I wash in my front loader, and I have to wash it seperately due to the weight of it when it is weight. It will fool you when it is dry let me tell you. If a wash it with something else, and yes there is plenty of room left to do it, my washer will throw a fit over it. Just because a person has 5.2 cu ft of washer, does not mean you can put 50 pounds of wet weight in it. The guy does say a few time that this is his second LG machine. It makes me beleive this is users mis judgement. Now why the machine did not shut off is a good question, right along with there were the owners when this happened? THat destruction did not take place right away. I doubt LG pays for the damages

I have not but my brother in law uses it every day for his work clothes and he loves it. LG included a cute tiny rubber cup which holds about a two teaspoons of detergent that you throw in with the load. I did a few more loads of my MIL's laundry with the WM4370HKA and don't like it quite as much as I did originally. I paid more attention to the fill portion of the cycle and it still has some water hammer issues. Also, I've only done cycles with turbo wash enabled and it does this weird spin fill during the deep rinse which kicks up a bunch of suds. I'd like to play with it a little more and try during a cycle without the turbo wash enabled to see how it behaves. I do really love the spray rinses during the spin and wish more manufacturers would add that feature to their lineups.
