Hi Diane, I am a designer with a granite and marble company. To better enhance the travertine, and stand up to the design asthetic of the glass tiles, I would suggest the biscotti/glazed vanity. This would need a very striking and dynamic countertop(granite) to balance out the glass tiles. A larger pattern as opposed to small particulates. Good luck, and take a few chances when decorating.

Hi, Sophie, Scherr's will do the clear coat. They will also do any Sherwin Williams stain. By specialty finish, if you mean the ceruse finish, I am talking to a local cabinet refinisher about it. He does not build cabinets. But I don't think it's likely we will go that route, for a number of reasons. Fori, thanks for weighing in. We will be ordering some sample doors. I have some white oak samples, so if we decide to stain, I may try some of the stains out before asking them to put them on sample doors. I feel the need to narrow the options down a bit first. The clear finish that Scherr's uses comes in two sheens: dulled rubbed (flat) and medium rubbed (satin). Does anyone know if the flat finish would hold up as well as the satin, be as easy to clean? Does the sheen determine durability and cleanability as well as the shine level? Thanks again!

Hi SJ McCarthy, I uploaded pictures of my floor finished with Loba invisible matte. I have some white oak pieces that I am finishing and would like a woodworker to recommend what to use to finish them to a raw looking state without tannins. Any suggestions are appreciated! Kandy

About to refinish our red oak floors and im having such a hard time deciding! ive been leaning towards aged barrel. it is beautiful in the above pics, but I’m hopinh it isnt too dark. my stair treads are black, and i want a good contrast. the wood is also in the kitchen and kitchen will be all white. opinions, please please!
