Is my stone quartzite?

We picked out a beautiful stone labeled Vino Verde quartzite for our kitchen countertops. I have two samples-- one honed and one polished.

Both samples passed the glass test: the corner of each sample easily scratched the bottom of a mason jar.

I was able to make a slight mark on both using the tip of a paring knife applied with a fair amount of pressure.

Vinegar left on both samples for several hours resulted in a slight etch to the honed stone. It's possible that there is an even more slight etch on the polished stone-- but I can't tell for sure.

Is it possible that this is truly quartzite?
