I found the thread! But...when I took it out of the package, it wasn't as thick as I thought it would be. Any suggestions on using it in a sewing machine? The package says use for top,and use cotton or poly blend in the bobbin. It's Wrights EZ Quilting invisible thread, for machine quilting. What will happen if I put it in the bobbin,too? I really didn't picture it with a white or beige thread,just clear to match the vinyl. I found another album purse..it looks pretty easy. You melt the album, like making an album bowl; that's the bottom of the purse. The top of the purse is a fabric tube, sort of like a duffle bag, with a drawstring closure. I just need to go back to the photo and see how they attached the record part to the fabric part. Maybe tomorrow I can try to sew it,lol. Hey Luvs... I saw a purse made with an album melted over a 4x4 piece of wood, and it was set into the bottom of the purse for stability...it was U-shaped! They used the front and back of the album for the front and back of the purse, the record album itself was the bottom. I almost tried it that way,worrying about the bottom of my purse sagging :) I found some suede lacing when looking for the thread...I was looking for that last week, but I can't remember what for now!

This was before it was cleaned. Which is how they all look now. From what I remember, the people I spoke to said they did not know of a sealer that would prevent the tarnishing. It's also a huge pain sweeping the floors - inevitably the dirt just goes into the squares. I was so disappointed that after nearly breaking my back, trying to get all of the squares clean, that it just looked so dirty again not long after. My next goal (once the squares are figured out) is to have the floor sealed with some sort of anti-skid protector, as we now have a dog who is constantly sliding around like Dino from the Flintstones...

OMG...so aggravating! Lost the transparent thread,found it; couldn't remember where my new Singer was,found it, but the bobbin keeps tangling;looked for older Brother,can't find it, but I made curtains not long ago with it. I also found out my eyes are so bad! Can't see the transparent thread....even with my glasses:) Who knows when I'll get this project going. I'm buying glitter pipe cleaners to go inside the vinyl tube handles. I'm sure this would have been an easy thing to get done, all I need is a sewing machine:) I'll check back when it's done!

If you like the current color I recommend adding to it and using an flush divider, which we generally call a header. One advantage of this (besides costing less, being less disruptive and causing less consequential damages) is that in the future the kitchen could be recoated up to the header. Your kitchen will get several times more wear than most areas of the house and will require recoating more frequently. It's often a challenge finding a place to stop the coat that doesn't show a stop-line, meaning that we often have to recoat more area than necessary. If you were more interested in making it perfect rather than acceptable, I would recommend paying the floor guy for the wood he bought, wait until you're ready for a kitchen renovation, lace the wood in at that time and refinish everything. They may not be willing to store the wood so you might need to find a conditioned space to store it. This strategy would also protect you if something on the new kitchen varies slightly from the existing.
