I like a classic white subway tile 8 x 2”

What are the counters thta is IMO where you start the backspalsh choice . I do not like the blue tile they look a bit too bathroom for me but I need to see the space . BTW backsplash and wall color last 2 choices in a kitchen .

Agree counters need to be factored in.

This could be one option.

I'd go with a blue ceramic or glass tile in a tone that coordinates with your blue island.

There are so many varieties of white. Whites can lean gray, yellow, blue or pink. It would be a mistake to buy backsplash tile before everything else is installed. Then you bring samples home to look at with the counters and cabinets (or order online). The lighting in stores is probably not the same as what you have at home either, so trying to figure it out in a store may not work. Nothing wrong with having a general idea, but you may change your mind when the time comes to install. You can still use your new kitchen without a backsplash, so there is no need to rush this decision.

Is that your final wall color and your final floor finish?

I agree with thinkdesign. If you are keeping the brown floors and gold paint, I am not seeing a blue color as your backsplash.

Bring home light gray glass tiles, soft whites, blues and some interesting shapes.

Hard to tell what is best without being in the room. So far, the kitchen looks fresh and pretty. Because it’s so neutral, you have a lot of options but need to see what look appeals to you in person. Anything you can post that you like?

Part of the kitchen has undermount lighting which makes the countertop look different at that end, but you also need some of the backsplash tile at the unlit side as well.

Thinking painting a light grayish white and floors will be a future project. I like subway tile and glass not sure about blue.

Pale blue glass tiles was my thinking, not a deep blue. Dark tiles don’t seem right for your kitchen!

Classic white subway with matching grout like you posted in the first picture. Given your brick floor, blue island and the creamy beige walls in the family room, you have enough color in the space without adding another in the backsplash tile. Very sweet home. I love the brick kitchen floor!
