Shower door without bottom track but low ceiling

Frank Marsh
last year

I'm finishing my basement which includes a bathroom. That area of the basement has a low ceiling as it's where a lot of the ductwork is run. So finished floor-to-ceiling height is only about 83 inches +/- an inch. I would liked to have had a sliding shower door with no bottom track, something like the picture I've attached (not my bath, just exemplary), but now am wondering about needing to duck to get under the rod. I'm about 5'11". In this style, how close can the rod be mounted to the ceiling? It looks like maybe 4 inches? Is there some other style where the door would maybe be suspended from a track in the ceiling?
