Comments (15)"The windows are maintained PERFECTLY so all the Marvin shills can shuffle off somewhere else." Not a shill and I could actually careless what people buy or use, and I haven't sold a wood window in years. I don't shuffle, and I am not going anywhere sorry to say. I just try and offer help and potential advice. I stated no offense to you but since you retorted. You come on here and blame the windows 100% and slam Marvin (could be any brand doesn't matter) yet offer no info on the age of the windows or how they are installed. You state PERFECTLY maintained but we have to accept your word on that. Does wood wick water thru end grain, yeah. Does it do it frequently yes it can. Are they ways and steps to minimize this, yes there are and in my opinion if you are having this issue repetitively and with all your windows they are not or could not be perfectly maintained. Every window company uses wood with end grain as realistically it is impossible not to and Ponderosa PIne...See Morestorage ideas for 7-year-old’s bedroom
Comments (9)Everything needs a home but what kind of home? Can the room be zoned? If your child is visual (and/or has ADHD), closed storage might be a losing battle. (Out of sight, out of mind.) If you go with the affordable and versatile option of storage cubbies, the bins can be identified with polaroids of the items or pictures. Make sure it's as easy to put things away as it is to take them out. Hooks are often easier than hangers, for example. Dresser drawers can benefit from dividers or little bins where socks and underwear can be unceremoniously dumped in them. Consider the "one in, one out" rule with toys to keep it manageable. Observe your child at play to see what gets used and what's forgotten. Can the stuff be pared down? ETA: Here are some ideas for storing Legos. Check Pinterest for toy-specific storage ideas but remember to keep it simple. No need for contrived systems. Kids have been known to outgrow their favourite toys (;-)) and you don't want to be stuck with expensive custom-designed solutions that aren't versatile. Just remembered one inexpensive doll storage solution I'd seen: clear shoe organizers behind the door for Barbies and the like....See MoreGrout cracking in bathroom corner walls on 7 month old bathroom
Comments (11)If you have a curb, you will have the cracks develop there, too. and where the walls meet the floor. Anywhere where two different materials meet or where one surface meets another that is in a different direction (known as "change of plane"). My contractor still grouts such places, too. But I did a solid surface shower that he could not do wrong. I am keeping an eye on the place where the floor meets the shower pan, all other places are in dry areas. So there it is just cosmetic. I would guess that water can get behind your tile with those cracks. If properly waterproofed it is fine, but if not, I would get to this as soon as you can. A lot of shower builders do not use waterproofing, even though it is now required. If you do a search on this forum for "Shower waterproof," you can see many discussions about it and learn what is and is not waterproof. (Redguard yes, Durock no, for instance.)...See MoreZone 5b 7 year old Calamindon tree.
