Kitchen Layout for small condo, help needed please
Comments (11)Thanks palimpsest, sorry but I could not get your question. Thank you very much MamaGoose, We prefer the 1st option because we could then setup a coffee station, thanks for the advises, I love the dishes by the island I think it will be a great fit. I think we spend most of our time at prep Would it be too weird to add a section to the island at table height to act as diner table? we do not have a formal diner table any more and this could help the living with more space? The "bad" part is.. that section of the island would be the fist thing you see when entering the condo. just an idea......See Moreneed help. what to do about this ugly paint and weird layout.
Comments (5)it looks like the tub was set wrong because the tile should be over that flange around the tub deck. There should be water resistant or waterproof backer board behind the tile but this looks like acrylic tub surround was put over sheetrock. So I would not worry about the color clash but the waterproofing which could lead to mold problems. It is hard to tell if you could just put thin backer board or that Kerdi waterproofing right over the faux marble acrylic then tile over it and the flange. If that is real tile or stone, maybe you could run a decorative border tile to cover the flange. A better but more expensive solution would be ripping out the tub surround, putting in the waterproof backing then re tiling properly with silcone caulk at the tub edge. That will flex when the tub does. when filled with water. (fill tub and then caulk for best seal.) I would tile to the ceiling. After the water proofing issues, deal with the aesthetics. if you keep the faux marble, I would find a warmer wall color to match the veining which looks beige or taupe on my screen. I might add border tile to trim the surround. Wall decor depends on your taste. mural ?...See Moreweird house layout! Need help with kitchen and rest of house.
Comments (7)Johnson Brothers is right, a good architect or Kitchen Designer can work with many styles. I'm talking about architects for the overall flow and design of the home and a Kitchen Designer for the kitchen design...not an interior designer or similar. Interior designers will also help with colors, materials, etc., but from what I've seen, neither architects nor interior designers are very good at kitchen design (at least not good functional design)....See MoreBasement bathroom with small shower and weird layout
Comments (8)It looks like you don’t need it to be an en-suite, is that right? Then your idea to seal up that door and move the vanity over makes sense. And you’d like a 5’ long shower? That’s a nice size, and room for ledges or a shallow bench to hold shampoo and soap. Is there anything preventing taking out the dropped ceiling in the shower? Where are the controls and the shower head right now? If the controls can be on the wall under the vent, and the showerhead at the back (on the short wall), that would be nice....See MoreAndee
